    Cute toy.

    Semi good quality, the part with the key came unscrewed within the first day and we almost lost the nut that holds it in there.

    Good idea, sub par execution

    I wanted so badly to love this it’s exactly what my son is interested in right now, he just turned two. But, the key lock, his favorite concept, is faulty. The lock mechanism fell off the wood after one day and it isn’t apparent how it was ever attached to begin with. I’ll let you fill in the blank what happened next. Anyways I went to Melissa and Doug website and tried to contact them, the link in their customer care tab is non existent. Ugh

    What it’s perfect for….

    I got this board in error when the online store shipped it to me incorrectly, but I decided to keep it. It’s a beautiful board, solid and well made. My near 2 year old enjoys tinkering with it, but if given the chance again, would I buy it? It’s perfect for a nursery or preschool with lots of children, but one that has limited play value at home.

    Quality Control Issues

    Great concepts as always but not executed well. The combination lock is nearly impossible for an adult to open, let alone a three year old. I would not recommend it or buy it again.

    Great gift idea

    Even though there are only 4 doors on this toy, each one offers a different challenge. The only issue I have with this toy is that the "briefcase" lock doesn't snap open, like it's supposed to. Still a good activity board that I'd buy again as a gift.

    Not child friendly

    The bottom right combination lock is very finicky and has only opened a few times and is now stuck closed. As well as the key managed to break off in the key jam.

    Would buy this again

    The boys also enjoy using this latch key toy. Possibly adding a few more pieces may keep the kids entertained longer. ...or possibly a similar board that had say a buckle, shoe laces, buttons, snaps, etc. The boys did bore of this game much quicker than others.

    I would NOT recommend this toy

    You have a lot of really great learning toys but this one the latches and locks in my opinion is ridiculous. Why in God's name would you want to teach a toddler how to unlock and unlatch things. We lock up our detergents and things that are harmful to our children including guns and ammunition not to mention a multitude of other things.

    Engaging

    My almost 3 yo is obsessed with keys and locks, this was a perfect toy for her. Great for fine motor skills and engaging for a good amount of time. There is enough space to hide little gifts or surprises behind the locks to ensure she is coming back to it.

    Almost Perfect

    I have been looking for these for a gift for my Godson's son. I am so happy to have found them. My biggest disappointment is that they were recommended for 2-3 year olds and when I received them, they clearly state that they are for 3+ years.

    I would highly recommend

    My grandson is almost 2 and has delayed speech which has required him to receive speech therapy. His therapist was here when I gave this to him and loved it. He really enjoyed the sounds. A wonderful piece to help with early learning.

    Grandson plays with this often.

    3 year old grandson likes the key and can unlock and lock the green van; however, he can not open other locks yet. We have only had it for 10 days though so it may take some practice. We'll see.
