Nordic Ware Classic 9 x 13 Pan with Embossed Prism Lid

I love the Nordic Ware that I already own (including this pan), but I am at my wits end trying to obtain a decent copy of the 13 X 9 covered cake pan to give as a gift. I have tried ordering this pan from several retailers (including 2 copies from Target) and have yet to receive a single pan that isn't seriously scuffed/scratched in a way that makes the finish seem compromised (with dark gouges/scratches, clusters of scuffs, or strangely "powdery" looking areas). I thought Target would be the answer--they shipped quickly and directly from Nordic Ware as a Target Plus partner--and I received 2 copies of this pan neatly wrapped in brown paper, with a printed Nordic Ware seal on the box. Neither pan was dented or scratched on the outside surfaces. Yet, upon inspection (after carefully removing the lids--you just need to push the lower pan to one side to release the lip of the lid) BOTH of these neatly wrapped 13 X 9 pans, shipped directly from the manufacturer, had signficant dark scratches or scuffs on the "handle" area that is normally covered by the lid. So, despite planning ahead and buying multiple copies of this pan to allow for problems, I am still without an acceptable gift for a party that happens in 24 hours. Scratches with use are one thing, but it is not acceptable to offer a product for sale at full price if it cannot reliably be shipped with an intact finish.

I wanted a pan like my grandmother. This is built just the same as hers that is at least 40 years old.

Bought this as a gift for my daughter. She couldn't get the lid off. Her husband had a rough time removing it as well. Disappointing!
