A: This unit does not, in fact, beep. The only sound it makes is the soft mechanical click of the automatic shut-off activating. I've used this kettle almost every day for an entire year, love it!

A: Possibly. But you can fully remove the plastic lid before pouring the hot water.

I like the volume capacity size as we generally make 2 cup at one time it heats quicker compared to our old rest in peace electric jug the beautiful blue lights are a nice feature now we see what gives up first the lights or kettle but for now it's nice to use.
