The item description specifically states that they are 18/10 stainless steel, which is why I purchased them. High quality stainless steel should have a marking on the bottom, usually at least 304 for 18/8 stainless steel. This item does not have any markings at the bottom. See the picture. Also, the packaging gives warnings about the nickel content, which demonstrates the low quality of this steel, as adding nickel reduces the quality, makes the product less expensive to produce, and increases the likelihood of corrosion, denting, and staining. Even when I came to the store to return the bowls, the woman said she knew they weren’t real stainless steel as soon as she touched them. This is the second time I have purchased mixing bowls from Target’s website and received poor quality ones that I had to return, both of which were described as 18/10 stainless steel and weren’t! I think I’m going to have to start looking in person, which, of course I was trying to avoid in an effort to save time.

These are no a cheap,thin stainless steel. I ordered these because my ceramic set was getting too heavy for me. I really like these. They are just the right weight and stable on the counter. Ver nice. Definitely would reciommend.
