Directions

Directions cover the entire affected area with a thin layer and rinse thoroughly one to three times daily, if bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day, because excessive drying of the skin may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually Increase to two or three times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor.

Q: is this good for oily skin?

  • A: I have very normal skin and have used the Up and Up version of Neutrogena Face Wash until Target came out with this garbage, prior to that I use Neutrogena since my teen years and I’m now in my 40s. I’ve been using this for 8 to 9 weeks, and have broken out around my face consistently every week. Also it smells really bad.

    I would not recommend purchasing this acne wash. Every time I used it, my skin broke out more instead of improving. I stopped using it and tried again later to see if the same thing would happen, and I still experienced breakouts. It also made my skin very dry. I even had other family members try it, and they had similar reactions. I couldn’t finish the product and ended up discarding it

    Love this cleanser!

    Great cleanser, just be wary if your skin is really sensitive because of the salicylic acid, though it’s not super strong so i would say just about anyone could use it and be okay! I have combo to oily skin, and this definitely helped combat that.

    Not good.

    I gave this a solid try, using two bottles before I finally gave up a few months ago. This is nothing like the original gold formula that was comparable to Neutrogena, which I bought and used consistently for years with no problems. This new formula kept leaving itchy red blotches all over my face, and my skin just didn't feel clean. I bought some Aveeno Positively Radiant Clear Complexion cleanser to try and calm down the irritation that this product caused, and it helped. Still using the Aveeno to this day, even though it costs more.

    Pleasantly surprised

    My son was using the Neutrogena prior to this, and our other kids struggled with the orange Neutrogena one. We prefer this face wash, they have less irritation and breakouts.

    Awful smell!

    I bought this thinking an inexpensive way to get a cleanser with salicylic acid and I think it's is a great price. My issue is the terrible smell of it. I think it's suppose to be unscented but this smells awful. I tried to use it and not let the smell bother me but couldn't do it. so I returned it. If you don't like unpleasant smells skip this and get something else. I would describe the smell but it's not like anything I've smelled before. It's just awful.

    not for sensitive skin!!

    i have used this face wash only a total of two times and my face burned for a few minutes after trying it both times and there are small red bumps on my cheeks. i have sensitive, oily and acne prone skin so i thought i’d give it a try but i definitely wouldn’t recommend it if you have sensitive skin!

    Not the best

    It cleans my face enough to not feel oily in the morning or after a long day. I got this for the occasional hormonal acne. However, since I started using it my chin has broken out so bad. I’m 27 and have never had acne before now like this. I don’t think this is effective, it is quite the opposite for me.
