Need a clear version
Weldwood is the best contact cement for many applications, including shoe repair. I've been using it since the 1960's. It's much faster to dry than ShoeGoo and is stronger. The reason for 4 stars is that it leaves a tan residue which is hard to remove. Barges is similar, but is clear. That one is used in leather work.

Works good but a solvent is not listed for the product. After a while the product thickens and becomes unusable. Add in thinner would restore it to the usual thickness.

Looking for safety data sheet
Looking for safety data sheet information on your contact cement. The information on the can says to go to Dap.com. After doing that and searching for the information the only reply I get is information not found. This should not be this difficult to find!

Dap Rubber Cement, Cleanup
Dap Contact Cement, longtime user, almost a great product, (3 stars) BECAUSE, DAP dismisses potential users by not listing cleanup solvents and methods. I won't buy or recommend a product that leaves this important information off the container label. Why make the product more difficult for End Users to use? Why hinder project cleanup? The correct cleanup solvents are toluene, acetone and naptha, but you have top pull teeth to find it on their website and you will not find these listed on their containers !
