[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent this product complimentary from Philips. This was a roller coaster experience for me. I was surprised the box arrived and there was no manual so I had to do a good bit of googling as this is my first espresso maker. Setting up wasn’t a breeze and originally I didn’t think it was going to work. After I worked through that I was slightly surprised at how loud the machine was as it’s marketed to be quiet. I definitely couldn’t use this while my toddler was napping or in the morning while everyone else was sleeping. Now on to the good. Really amazing coffee. I’ve been loving making iced coffee with this, it comes out so fresh! I like that the water reservoir holds a good bit so I’m not constantly refilling. Overall, I would recommend!

It did its job and once I had it figured out wasn’t hard to use. It ground the whole beans well and had excellent flavor. The machine looked nice but for the price I would have thought that it would have a sturdier feel and less of the thinish plastic that the body was made out of.

The QR did not take me to the right spot, and even searching for Baristina on the Philips website did not bring up the product. I eventually found a YouTube video on how to use the Baristina and the actual Philips website page that gives you tips on how to adjust for cup size and intensity. The design of the coffee maker is sleek. Also, it is not very loud when grinding coffee beans. I'm also having fun watching the portafilter moving one side to the other. Cleaning takes a little bit since it calls for pressing down on the button on the portafilter to get the water out it. There's a few times where I thought I got all the water out of it and then ended up either getting water on myself or the floor. Also, I've taken to leaving a paper towel underneath my mugs since I use large mugs and don't like having to clean stray coffee grounds and dripping coffee after moving the mug away.

I love that I can use whatever beans I want, and they are freshly ground on demand. This makes my coffee so fresh, and I like that I can make both espresso and lungo shots. I also like that I have the ability to brew decaf coffee that has been ground already, while keeping my caffeinated beans in the machine. The only things that make it harder to use are the short opening under the espresso spout- you will need a short mug or espresso cup. The drip tray isn’t very useful since the space is so short anyway. The ground espresso “pods” created after brewing can be messy, and sometimes leaks while brewing. However, these are the only minor issues I had using the machine. Overall it does a great job of brewing high quality espresso, and it takes up less space than a traditional machine. Highly recommend!

It fits perfect next to my coffee maker and it is very sleek and visually appealing. Ease of use is high up there as a beginner to espresso so this was the perfect machine to dip my toes. It is very intuitive, makes a wonderful espresso, and is very easy to clean / maintain. The price point is moderate—you get a high quality product for price that is realistic on a budget. I would absolutely recommend this to others.

It’s a direct competitor to Nespresso and I must say that it brews a really good cup of espresso, all using your own coffee beans which makes it far more cost effective than buying pods every month. The only downside is it feels a bit plastic-y and lightweight, but honestly that doesn’t matter to me with how good it does in making a cup of coffee. My nespresso is gathering dust since getting this :)

First off, it’s smaller and more compact than other espresso machines on the market, which make it perfect for those who have limited counter space or storage space (if not leaving it out on display). I found it to be much more quiet than other espresso machines on the market, which I can truly appreciate since I have two small children and love to enjoy a cup of coffee before they wake up in the mornings. My espresso comes out perfect and I have no had any grains or anything at the bottom of my cup. I love the simplicity of the design and how easy it is to use. Very easy to set up and is extremely user friendly, even if this is your first espresso machines!

Its sleek design doesn't clutter the counter top so you can easily keep it on the counter for daily usage. After just a couple minutes your grounds are brewed to an espresso perfection.
