Bad product
I Bought it 3 years ago and now too many issuesand not working good and after maintenance three times still not working good, very poor quality compared to other models.

Didnt work out of the box
I was so excited to try my new Magnifica Start. I got home, plugged it up………. and nothing. The ‘settings’ light flashes. I press it and the machine makes a loud noise and then returns to flashing again. I watched all the YouTube videos, read the manual, and tried the suggestions. Yet it still doesn’t work.

100% do not recommend
Worked fine for the first 6 months beside the fact that it constantly needs attention (constantly needing to dump grinds and descale machine), then wouldn’t make a full cup of coffee in spite of consistently attempting to reprogram. Wasted so much coffee trying to get a full cup and it tasted burned. Sent back to DeLonghi after proving in a court of law that the machine was within the 1 year warranty. I had to submit proof via written word and many videos showing the machine wasn’t functioning properly. Waited for them to send a box, packed it up and sent it right away. Assumed I was getting a new one. Nope. Same machine but they “fixed it”. NOPE. Also took FOREVER to get it back. Never again will I buy from this manufacturer. Huge waste of money.

Do not buy!!!!
Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The machine worked fine for the first few months, then suddenly stopped brewing properly. The espresso smells burnt, tastes awful, and comes out separated. I’ve contacted customer service multiple times and have mailed the machine back TWICE — and it’s still not fixed. Completely unacceptable. Save yourself the frustration and do not buy from this brand. Take your money somewhere that actually stands behind its products.

Missing Parts and solution. $600 product Re-packaged
I’m just now reading reviews after I bought this today and spent $646 after tax. And I also had the same problem as others where the box was empty, and there was no descaling solution to run through the machine. It looks like it got returned. The plastic was off of it. The descaling solution is $18 online. I just wish that it would’ve came with the machine may return.

Temperature & noise level questionable
The coffee is good, but not very hot. The machine is louder than any machine I’ve had in the past. I’d recommend to a person who’s ok with a “cooler”. NOT cold, who doesn’t mind loud machines.

Perfect for a beginner
After visiting my family in France and enjoying their freshly ground coffee each morning, my home Keurig was no longer acceptable to my newly acquired espresso palate. I asked my cousin which brand he owned and sent a photo of a De'Longhi Magnifica S which I wasn't able to find, probably an older model. So I decided on this model. I love that I do not have to press my own grounds and worry about a perfect puck. I even drink my coffee black now because the flavor is just so good!

Defective out of box. Not happy first time customer
Defective right out of box. No water is released by pressing setting button at first time setup. Filter and descaling solution are missing in box. I was going to ignore this but the unit does not even work at get go. I saw same review about these on another web seller. So these must be not unusual issues with DeLonghi. Can’t give review on quality of this unit yet till I get the replacement. (If I will still have a chance to leave another review with the replacement) Sent it back on the 4th. Target won’t release the replacement till they receive the defective one on the10th. Then I get to wait for them to mail out the replacement. So I paid for it a week ago now and get to wait for another two weeks or so. After receiving a defective/refurbish unit from delonghi and now get a bad time with Target.

More Target than the product. I ordered online and Target shipped it to me. All they did was slap a shipping label on the factory packaging and sent it to me. It areived with the box ripped, and it had been dropped as the base of the machine was broken. I submitted my request for a return and it told me to bring it into any Target store and they would take it, and a new one would be shipped to me. I took it to Target, and nobody in the store had a clue on how to exchange an online order, in store. I was showing them on my phone where Targets instructions told me to bring it in, and they told me Target does not do that. Ended up getting a refund, and I found a better deal elsewhere. Your loss Target.

Initially makes great coffee. However, the water measuring mechanism was broken day one. We were able to fix it. But it is impossible to clean. It just keeps running water forever and never completes the cycle. I have tried for 3 hours straight to go through the cycle and it never finishes. Might have to get a new machine and it will not be this brand.
