I like that you can use whole coffee beans that it grounds up itself with a built-in grinder or already ground coffee. I also love that it has an Iced Coffee option. You can also choose the cup size you want. The machine itself is bulky and loud when in use. It does have alot of pieces to keep clean. But overall my experience with it is great.

Bought this for my husband as a semi-spur of the moment Christmas gift. Spent SO long nursing it and trying to get it to work without intervening every.single.time.we.made.a.cup that we gave up - but outside the warranty. Would have to tip the water reservoir every time. Sometimes it would just spontaneously shut off. Sometimes we would push a button for one size but it would give us a larger or smaller size.. the whole thing was incredibly ridiculous. It's home is in the landfill. Terrible waste of money.

At first it took me some time to learn how to work it but after I was easy to know how to make a good cup of coffee. The only thing I don't like is the fact that after making about two to three cups of coffee I need to clean it and empty the water out. Although it is a good coffee machine that makes me want to drink coffee every day.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am what most people would consider a coffee snob -- I buy several varieties of green coffee beans at a time and roast my own coffee on a computer-controlled air roaster. I know coffee and I know about brewing it as well. I jumped at the chance to try this coffee machine and review it. I’ll start by saying this is a beast of a coffee brewer. It seems very well thought-out and carefully designed. It’s very simple and straightforward to use. The quality of the brewed coffee is on par with what you might expect from a quality coffee shop using machines costing 3 to 4 times what this does. It’s quick to brew coffee, and I appreciate the lack of having a carafe and filters to clean. The machine pours straight into your cup or your to-go mug, which a plus for me in the mornings. The machine actually pre-infuses the beans it grinds fresh before each cup, before dispensing the coffee that is brewed under pressure, just as an Italian espresso machine would do. You get a great tasting cup of coffee, the way coffee is meant to taste. If I had to say what I don’t like about it, it’s so minor it’s almost not worth complaining about. The container inside the machine that collects the spent grounds sometimes doesn’t catch all of them and a very small amount falls into the drip tray. But you need to rinse out the drip tray under the faucet after you brew several cups anyway, so it’s pretty much a non-issue. Overall, this is a really advanced machine for the money; you just can’t go wrong. Well-built, sturdy and great looking. Buy it, and you might become a coffee snob as well!

It arrived in excellent condition and was so easy to clean and prepare for my first brew. It comes with a quick start guide to help guide you to your perfect cup of coffee, and I highly suggest reading the entire guide before attempting to make anything to promote longevity of use for the machine. The start up was very fast, but it did take about 6 or 7 cups of coffee for it to start making amazing brews. There are 5 types of brew: light, gold, and bold, as well as over ice and pre-ground. I thought that light would be my favorite, but I have found I actually love the gold brew the best, it gives a rich, smooth flavor and an impressive head of foam every cup, with little bitterness. I drink my coffee black so that’s important for me. I’ve used every feature on this machine except for Over Ice, manly because it’s winter, but also because I haven’t made any ice in a while. I have found that all features work so well, and the machine does go up to 24oz but it does have to grind the beans twice to brew over 16oz, which is not as big of a hassle as my husband thinks it is. The only downside that I have with the True Brew is that it is incredibly loud. I’m often afraid I will wake up my husband if I make a cup before he wakes up, but usually it does not wake him, thank goodness. This machine also, does go through a fair amount of beans for each cup, but the quality of the brew is so good to both me and my husband that we really don’t mind having to buy more coffee. We were so excited to get this machine because we love gas station coffee machines, the really awesome new ones that they are all getting now, that grind the beans every time you make a fresh cup! And now we can just make whatever beans we want at home whenever we want! We use this machine at least 4-6 times a day every single day since we got it. And it’s holding up strong, while making a better cup of coffee each time. Maintenance is a breeze as well. The machine will tell you what needs to be done and when, so that everything works smoothly every time you want another cup. With the amount we use it, we usually will have to dump the spent grounds container and the disposal water container once a day, and a deep clean once or twice a week, and both of those things are extremely easy to do. Overall, I am so pleased with the De’ Longhi True Brew and I hope to have this machine for a very long time. This has been such a wonderful gift for me and my husband to wake up to every single morning.

Before this I had a ninja 10 cup drip coffee maker with milk frother (loved it) but this definitely makes better coffee. I love the different sizes, strength and types of coffee I can make! The espresso style honestly surprised me and comes out very tasty! I also love that I can control the temperature. The built in coffee grinder is a huge plus. This coffee maker also comes with a hard water test strip so you can set the level of hard water on your coffee maker. When I first started using it, it was pretty loud but seems to get quieter after using it a few times. I see the cons about this machine are mostly for the cleanup- I have to say as long as you are CAREFULLY, and very gently pulling the front of the machine, you shouldn’t have a problem with it getting messy. Depending on how much coffee I drink, I clean the grinds and excess water every other day and have had no problems with it getting messy! Although I can see why people are having problems with it. Overall this coffee maker is definitely better than my old one and I would highly recommend it.

It’s pretty great just being able to put whole coffee beans in and having a fresh cup brew up! No filter or additional things needed! Being able to pick how strong it brews and size too is pretty great. It was a little noisy the first three brews but has since improved. I’m excited to have this machine fuel me up every morning.

I cannot report that there is a noticeable difference in quality or taste of fresh ground vs. what we did beforehand, although it’s easy to vary the strength of what I brew. Cleaning is infrequent and a breeze, and it works flawlessly. If I could change one thing I would direct connect my reverse osmosis system to the machine so we don’t have to fill the water tank but that would cost a fortune and it’s probably not possible with this unit anyway.

It also takes whole beans and grounds them itself which has been nice. The biggest downside is that it’s pretty loud and sometimes makes a noise like it’s running when not in use but that hasn’t been a big deal for me so far. Also, it produces a lot of excess water so that has to be emptied pretty frequently which was a little surprising at first.

I am a huge iced coffee fan and I’m glad that it has that setting as well. The area where you set your cup is very big which gives you more possibilities to use different size cups. . It has both ground and whole bean slots. I think that’s smart because on days if you want decaf, You can put decaf in the ground coffee slot, or you can put your favorite ground coffee in it. To prevent leakage is to remember to empty BOTH trays in the coffee machine. I was aware of that in the reviews so I kept an eye on it , only time it leaked was when I didn’t empty the excess water tray. I husband loves this machine, says we are never going back to our old machine. The ice coffee feature is chefs kiss as well. My husband thinks it’s amazing , we are happy ^_^

It’s very large and contains a grinder to make super fresh coffee (but you can also use grounds)! I only wish I could brew a carafe. Coffee tastes really awesome! The only thing is that it is quite loud, while brewing (not just grinding) but that is a minor thing for the quality of this machine! Id rate it an A minus!
