They don’t leak at all with a very tight seal. That being said, sometimes I can’t get the lid off at all. It can also be a little tricky cleaning under the seal.

At the same time, we understand the trade-off you’re noticing with how tight the seal can feel. Because the lids are engineered for maximum leak resistance, they can sometimes create a very strong seal, especially after refrigeration or temperature changes. If the lid feels difficult to open, a helpful tip is to gently “break” the seal by lifting one corner tab first rather than trying to open it straight across. Running the lid briefly under warm water or letting it sit at room temperature for a minute can also help release that tight seal. For cleaning, the lid is designed to be dishwasher-safe (top rack recommended). If you’re hand-washing, a soft bottle brush or small detail brush works well to reach into the gasket channel where food particles can occasionally collect. While the silicone seal is built into the lid for durability and leak protection, thorough rinsing right after use can also make maintenance easier. Do not be suckered into buying.
I have purchased several of the brilliance sets. Loved them at first until the lids started to be so difficult to get off. Even broke a corner of a lid trying to get them off. Contacted the company but they will not do anything about it. Would not recommend to buy unless you are just going to use for about a year. Going to toss all of mine. Not worth the frustration.

The containers are plastic. We had previously ordered what appeared to be the same thing and it was glass.

Great until they crack!
Absolutely loved these containers UNTIL THEY CRACKED! These are sturdy containers that seal well, but over the past several months EVERY SINGLE container in the set has cracked. We even kept using them if a small crack developed near the top, but eventually they all cracked so badly they became unusable.
