Amazing!

I had a failed shampoo bar attempt about 10 years ago and since then I've been really skeptical of shampoo bars. My hair is really thin and regardless of what shampoos I've used (expensive ones, drugstore ones), it gets greasy so soon. I read that these shampoo bars were not soap, which I suspect was the problem for the bars I used 10 years ago. I ordered a bundle of 3 shampoos and 3 conditioners. I am in love!! My hair looks and feels so healthy and I've found that my hair doesn't get as greasy as quickly. I also suffer from Seborrheic dermatitis and so far haven't seen any flare ups after using this product. I've been recommending this to all of my friends!

Great!

This one is our favorite of all the shampoo bars. It lathers amazingly well. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it gets very soft and stays that way. But from experience with some of the others, the less it melts the less the lather. And while I know lather is not cleansing, it sure makes the shampoo more enjoyable.

Great bar, terrible shape.

I love this bar. Have used it religiously for 2 years now. But the new shape is terrible! As others said, it no longer fits in the travel containers, which is ridiculous.

Great shampoo bar

To be transparent, I have a buzz cut so shampoo does not have to do much to be sufficient for my uses. I like this shampoo and I like the plastic-free packaging.

Clarifying Shampoo

In my opinion, Ethique is the best quality shampoo bar available. I was a little hesitant to try the clarifying bar as my hair is actually on the dry side, and I thought it might be too drying. I decided to give it a try for the hot, humid summer days here in Florida. I absolutely love it! It does not dry or strip my hair at all, but it cleanses well. It has ginseng, a very beneficial herb, and I love the scent! I would love a companion conditioner bar as well!

Waxy Residue

I was so excited to use this bar and I wanted to love it, but I was so disappointed with the actual results... Pros: Smells wonderful, lathers great, and I love that it has plastic free packaging! Cons: After using the bar, I was left with a waxy residue all over my hair. I continued using the bar a few more times to see if it would go away, but the problem persisted and I was left with a mess in my hair that I'm now having a difficult time removing. It has left my hair with the appearance of looking greasy (which I thought the "clarifying" part was aimed at reducing).

I like it but don't love it

I took the hair quiz and my results were to get the clarifying shampoo and the smoothing conditioner. I didn't really like the idea of combining two kinds but decided to try it. My hair is wavy, frizzy and gets oily if I don't wash it every day. The mixture does seem to help a little bit but I don't like how it makes my hair feel. It's dryer and kind of sticky like there's a residue on my hair. I still feel like it needs to be washed every day. I don't know if combining the products works better for my hair than just using the matching types of each so it's hard to know which I like better. I really like how they both smell though. Overall, I do like these but I don't think they're right for my hair. I also ordered the everyday shine one so I'll try that next. I'm really hoping to find the right kind for me so I do plan to order again, I'll just have to figure out which ones to try!

cleanses well without leaving a residue

I was skeptical about converting to solid shampoo but wanted to try it in an effort to reduce plastic usage. I've been using the shampoo for a couple of weeks and so far it has been really good. The shampoo is sudsy and cleans my hair well. I exercise so my hair gets pretty sweaty. I did not purchase the conditioner bar but will plan to do so.

Left Residue in my Hair

Within a week of starting to use this bar, my hair started to hang heavy and limp. I could tell immediately after showering there was a residue in it that was weighing it down.

My hair has never been softer

I have used other shampoo bars and they always made my hair feel dry/stripped after washing it out. The Clarifying Shampoo Bar doesn't give me that feeling. I also feel like I can go longer between washes, which is crazy considering I workout 6 days a week, and I am a head sweater. I honestly don't know what I did without this shampoo bar. I am never going back to my other shampoo again. Plus its more environmentally friendly, so I get great hair and am helping the planet. Its a win, win!
