Surprised and disappointed
I usually get the Ghiradelli chocolate chips in the yellow bag, or their chocolate chunks, but they were out, so I got these. I melted them with cream as usual to make a ganache, and was totally surprised by the taste. It just didn't taste like chocolate. It was the right color but missing that addictive flavor that makes you want more. In fact, that bowl of ganache is still in my fridge and I haven't even been tempted to taste it. The texture is weird too, pasty and just not smooth. I'm nervous now because Ghiradelli has been my go-to for baking chocolate for decades. I just ordered their yellow bag after throwing this one away, hope it's stil good! I feel bad leaving one star, but I've never been unable to eat chocolate chips before.

We maybe like this a little too much. We eat it to feel like we're not eating candy... even if we're still kind of eating candy lol But it has less sugar, more good stuff (flavanols with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties), and a tiny boost of caffeine so it seems like a good alternative to a traditional chocolate bar.

Great flavor, horrible for baking- turns to a blob
I was very excited to see these discs/chips in my local grocery store. After bringing our family chocolate chip cookie recipe to a gathering I was asked to bake them for a private party. Thank goodness I tried them before using them in the party cookies. While these have great dark chocolate flavor, they did not hold their shape and turned into melty, pooling blobs. My cookies look like they have moles/warts :( Your system is not allowing me to upload my cookie pictures which would show the undesirable results.

Delicious
As a diabetic I have explored many zero sugar/ no sugar added sweets lately to help me satisfy my sweettooth without harming my bloodsugars. These might be my absolute favorite chocolate chips, I dont really make anything with chocolate chips other than add them to my pudding/yogurt for that crunch I crave when eating something creamy like that and these are so good! I absolutely love ghirardelli chocolate and love their dark chocolate bite they have, as with anything sweet tasting though eat too many in one sitting and youll get a belly ache haha. I cant wait to try and make some diabetic friendly chocolate chip cookies, because these will absolutely be my go to chips for that.

Free-Form Chocolate Blobs
I have been using these chips in my cookie recipe for at least 10 years with fabulous results, but with the most recent cookies, the chips melted into blobs as the cookies baked. They still taste very good, but the appearance is less than delightful. (I also use these chips for fudge at Christmas time--the flavor is perfect for dark chocolate fudge.) Has something changed with the chocolate chip formula that caused this meltdown? Any suggestions for keeping the chocolate pieces whole while the cookie bakes so these chips can get 5 stars?
