A: We recommend holding the trigger down while making a forward pass, then releasing while pulling the machine back over the area. Then make another pass without spray. We're always here to help you!

Q: How would you clean pet hair clogs out? A previous Bissell I had came with a plastic 'comb' piece. Does this one come with it as well or does the part where it sucks up the water detatch?

A: It doesn't include a tool for cleaning. It does have a removable nozzle for easy access to the brushes for cleaning and maintenance.

Couldn't remove stains in carpet and left new stains on top of it. When the trigger is pulled, it releases so much liquid-- I think it might work better on high-pile carpets, but mine was low-pile and the water went everywhere. It also doesn't vacuum (doesn't even have a way for dog hair to be sucked up into the basin, only water/dust) so the vacuum just pushed the wet hair around on the carpet. It was awful.

Works great, it gets the dirt out and stains. CON: I used about 1tbsp of bissell cleaning solution and while it works, smells great. It is foamy. The dirty tank fills so fast 1/4 is foam and you have 1/2 left you could still fill with dirty water but it sets the float off to change the water. So the clean tank is half full of water you could still use. So in 2-3 passes you are changing water. But overall it works great.
Beware of the small capacity of the pickup tank

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pickup tank is big but it only picks up a small amount before it needs to be emptied. The pickup tank needs to be reengineered to hold a larger amount. VERY FRUSTRATING to keep running to empty the pickup tank.

Used today for the first time. When we wanted it to suck the water up, we had to remove the top tank to keep it from laying solution down, even though we weren't holding trigger down. Our carpet was soaked!! My rating……POOR PERFORMANCE and bad design. Now I know why it was so cheap. Will return to store for refund.

Huge disappointment, I seen Pet XL and had high hopes for a quality cleaner at a very affordable price point. Ugh, was absolutely not worth it.. the water doesn't heat up, the cleaner barely pulled up the water. You need to prime the sprayer almost every other pass, then when you prime it shoots out so much soap and water you have a huge spot that is soaked. Very very disappointment in this, when many of this brands items are excellent. We have a German Shepherd and Two children, and all this did was soak my floors in cold water with soap.

It is really time consuming process and requires frequent tanks changing. It collects all pets fur and leaves it behind on the floor, so I had to pick it up manually. It is really annoying. Overall it leaves mixed feelings but still good for the price.

The machine I bought bound up with PET HAIR within 3 months of purchasing! Chatted wih Jose who did nothing to help. Just kept saying things by the book. Did not offer any personalized help. Asked to chat with a supervisor. Nope! Gotta give your phone number for the supervisor to call you back. Supers don't do chat. Customer Service is horrible. Will NEVER buy another Bissell and I have been a repeat customer
