  • A: Thanks for contacting us. What could have happened is that you mistakenly pressed the button on our Tahoe Pitcher for under 5 seconds (which only checks the status, not resets it). What you should do is press the button under the corresponding filter for longer than 5 seconds. The light will then flash GREEN & RED 3X. Q: Two questions: 1. Does the Brita Tahoe Pitcher remove fluoride? I'm reluctant to do that given its health benefits. 2. Is this made from a stable form of plastic that doesn't leach contaminants?

  • A: Hello there, Deb; these are good questions. Our filters aren't designed to reduce fluoride. Our blue Elite filters don't reduce fluoride from tap water, and our white Standard filters reduce less than 5% of fluoride from tap water. To your other question, the reservoir of our Tahoe Pitcher along with the pitcher itself is from Polystyrene. The handle and lid is made from ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene). These materials don't contain any polycarbonate or any phthalates, and all of our products are tested and certified by NSF International and/or WQA for both material safety and filtration performance.   • A: Ayanna, thank you for reaching out about the timer on our Tahoe Pitcher. Your timer may need to be reset as the red light should come on with the Elite filter after 6 months or 120 gallons. If the indicator is on the top of your pitcher’s lid: Press and hold down the STATUS button. Hold it there for 2 seconds if you’re using a white filter or 6 seconds if you have a blue filter. Release the button when the green light next to your filter icon flashes three times by itself. If the indicator is on the underside of your pitcher’s lid: Under the icon for your filter type, press and hold down the reset button for 5 seconds. Because of this amazing filtered water pitcher, I find myself drinking a lot more water than I generally did before. The green light that appears when you pour gives such a rich, modern feel. It’s very durable as far as the design goes and the filter supposedly works up to 6 months before replacement is needed. I truly enjoy the taste of the water with this pitcher more than I do with tap or bottled store water!

I've had other filtered water pitchers but this Brita water pitcher is one of the best that I've ever tried. It comes with an elite water filter and it works great. It filters out 99% of lead that's found in tap water. It makes my tap water taste like spring water or bottled water. I grew up with an artesian well and this is as close as I'm going to get to that without having to purchase bottled water. This pitcher is super easy to set up and get going. It has a light in the front of the lid that starts green when you put in a new filter. Over time, it turns yellow and then it turns red to let me know that I need to change the filter. It's very convenient!

Green means the filter is good, yellow signals it’s almost time to replace, and red means it’s time for a new one. No more wondering if your water is being properly filtered! The Elite Filter is designed to last up to six months, which is perfect for me as the sole user. I’m expecting to get the full lifespan out of it with no problem. Compared to the basic Brita filter I was using before, this one noticeably improves the taste and clarity of the water.
