Q: Once complete with the warming cycle, will it continuely cycle through for an hour or more keeping it hot for other family members? Or does it shut down immediately upon reaching boiling?

A: • Always use fresh water in the kettle. • If the kettle is accidentally switched on without a sufficient amount of water, a boil-dry safety mechanism will automatically switch the kettle off. • The lid should always be securely in place while heating water.

Q: What’s the filter for?

A: Chrisi, this is a removable/cleanable scale filter. We also recommend decalcifying periodically, which refers to removing mineral deposits that may form in the interior of the kettle and may result in discoloration. Frequency will depend on the hardness of your tap water and how often you use your kettle. We suggest using a kettle descaler in order to dissolve these deposits or scale. Follow the directions on the descaler package.

So this looks great, boils water in 9 minutes... but when I picked it up to pour, water leaked out the handle and burned my hand badly. Water also poured out of the on/off switch. Maybe it was a defective return (the box was open when I received it) but SHAME ON TARGET for selling it. This is very unsafe. I've been using the stove since I was five and never burned myself before. An electric kettle should be safer than an open flame. Also, you have to pull hard on the lid to open it and refill it. Another bad safety feature if you want to make multiple pots of tea because it is hot and you could get steam burns. It should have a push button to open the lid. Returning. Disappointed because it looks great and I've been wanting an electric kettle forever. Cuisinart is normally a good brand, but not this time.
