Q: There's plastic inside the kettle on the pour spout and strainer. I removed the strainer, but can't get the plastic pour spout off. Is this removable?

The clear material on the water level indicator is made of TPX Polymethylpentene the characteristics are similar to those of traditional polyolefins TPX features superb clarity, transparency, gas permeability, heat and chemical resistance and release qualities. Stops Functioning Outside of Warranty
I really loved this kettle until it broke right after the warranty expired. How convenient! It no longer boils water which is its whole function. Cuisinart did not offer to fix it, nor replace it. All they offered was a 20% coupon and I didn't even get that! If you want a product that will last, I would not advise you to get this.

Too many bells & whistles!
This kettle has too many buttons, beeps, etc. I had a previous model which was a simple kettle. It had an on/off button, the lid came on and off without pressing a button. Unfortunately I dropped it and it broke. This new model has nine buttons. That’s about eight too many. The more gizmos the more that could go wrong. I just want to boil water!! Also I hate the beeps. When you get up earlier than other people in your home and you’re trying to be quiet the darn kettle beeps when you hit start and beeps when it comes to a boil. Lose the beeps. I do like that it is all and more narrow than the old one but would still go back to the previous model in a heartbeat.

Wish I would have upgraded years ago
This was an excellent purchase! I had no idea the difference using the appropriate temp water would make in French press and tea preparation... plus, the kettle is easy to fill, attractive, and really handy with the auto-on feature so it stays hot for 30 minutes in case you walk away (less energy use!). Highly recommend!

Makes the water taste like plastic
The kettle is beautiful and works like a dream, but all of the plastic in the boiling chamber makes the water taste like chemicals. I have boiled countless batches of water and it still smells and tastes horrible! Very Disappointed! :(

Great Water Kettle
We were looking to replace our water kettle as the handle of the old one broke. This being the third time we were in the market for a water kettle after various aspects stopped working or broke, we decided to look for a different brand. This kettle feels solid and sturdy. We were pleased with attachment of the lid being well designed hinges and the minimal plastic used in construction. I love that it holds the water temperature for me while I'm running around making breakfast for the family.

Don't buy
Faulty kettle leaked hot water all over first time use. Leaking from bottom directly on power cables. Boxed up but then told To get refund I had to submit photo of cut cable. Took charging unit apart to recycle and showed that in photo, did not give me my refund. Resubmitted new photo after assembling unit and cutting cable, still waiting for refund 1 week later. Why am I responsible for waste produced by Cuisinart.

Great electric kettle from a trusted manufacturer
My daughter recommended this electric kettle as she has one and loves it so I thought I would or this particular one since I just started using the Aeropress Coffee maker. I love it and it is very easy to use. I like that it has an automatic shutoff and that there are different temperatures for different teas, and coffees. It is well worth the money!! I highly recommend it.

Different teas are better brewed at the right temp
I never knew that certain types of teas (and french press coffee) brew best at certain temperatures. Since I acquired the Cuisinart PerfecTemp Cordless Programmable Kettle I have discovered a whole new world of tea and coffee enjoyment. Teas, especially more delicate varieties, tastes so much better when brewed at the proper temperature. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing the difference in flavor is with this kettle. It is WELL worth the cost!
