Q: Made 2 poached eggs. Followed instructions, eggs very runny and not really cooked. No way to add any time. It just kept buzzing that it was done. Kept the lid in to keep ‘steaming.’ How to make poached and not like liquid?

submitted by S - 3 years ago
  • A: Can it be that water steams at different rates depending upon the elevation, or humidity levels there? Can only imagine that is a slight difference and adding just a tad bit more water will work.

submitted bytwigboy - 2 years ago
  • A: add more water and continue cooking, until you find your desired measure of doneness.

submitted byDavid - 2 years ago
  • A: Altitude makes a difference. If your eggs aren't cooked enough...just add a bit more water initially. That means the water takes longer to evaporate and your eggs will cook longer. Easy peasy

Q: I bought this egg cooker within the last 6 weeks and have used it about 3 times. Already the bottom of the inside of the cooker is getting spotted and it does not wash off. Is this normal?

submitted by Jill R - 5 years ago
  • A: There's a statement about this in the owner's manual. It's because if the water. Check the manual--they explain how to clean it with vinegar or magic eraser.

submitted byTargetnottarjay - 5 years ago
  • A: It should, Ive just been wiping mine down with either a wet cloth or a magic eraser and all the spots come off

submitted byVanessa - 5 years ago
  • A: Still, sometimes an egg will crack and as the water is used, the egg drippings are "burned". A bit of vinegar, and/or baking soda/water scrubbing will fix it right up.

submitted bytwigboy - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Jill, thank you for for purchasing our Dash Egg Cooker! We hope you love it as much as we do! It is true that you may notice mineral deposits on the Heating Plate after a few uses. This may look like rust, but it is merely the residue of natural minerals present in your water. To remove, simply clean the Heating Plate with a mild solution of water and vinegar (10 parts water : 1 part vinegar) from time to time. You can also clean the heating plate using a “magic eraser” type sponge and warm water.

Q: At first my eggs turned out perfectlly. The last few times I have used it I have had one and sometimes two eggs ooze out yoke from the shell or crack. Can you tell me what I might be doing wrong? Thanks!

submitted by Bonnie - 3 years ago
  • A: Possibly cold eggs (store-bought) need to be set out to warm to room temperature. Sometimes this makes a difference when boiling eggs the traditional way. Or thin egg shells.

submitted bytwigboy - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello! We're sorry to hear you are having trouble with the Dash Everyday Egg Cooker. In our testing, we haven't experienced a problem with yolks oozing out but if you could reach out to our customer service team they would love to hear more and hopefully assist - support@bydash.com. Q: Hi, the buzzer sound is too loud, is there a way to get the volume down?

submitted by Li - 4 years ago
  • A: I wish that the timer shut off after it informs you but it keeps going and going. That is the only thing I don't like about it!

    submitted bysql4fun - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello! Thank you for your question. At this time, there is not a volume adjusted on the egg cooker but we are happy to have your feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve. If you need any additional assistance, our customer service team is standing by - support@bydash.com

Q: Are the eggs Easy to peel?

submitted by Kat - 5 years ago
  • A: Hello, Thank you for reaching out! Eggs made in the Dash Everyday Egg Cooker are super easy to peel! The trick is before cooking puncturing the eggs with a tiny hole using the measuring tool included.

  • A: Yes! I purchased it for this reason. somebody had told me that in an egg cooker eggs would peel easily and yhey really does !

Q: How come everytime the bottom burns no matter how much water I use? I.e I tried to make only 3 eggs (filled the cup to the top) and I put them on the recommended 12 minutes that it says in the book for hard boiled.

submitted by Jordan - 4 days ago
  • A: The Everyday Egg Cooker may begin to develop some mineral deposits on the Heating Plate. While this may look like rust or burnt, it is merely residue of the natural minerals present in your water or from the outside of your eggs. To clean the thermal heating plate please cover the plate with vinegar and allow it to sit for 10 minutes and then you should be able to wipe it clean. I hope this helps!

Eggs for Breakfast

As someone who struggles with time management in the morning, this egg cooker has proven useful time and time again. I love eggs for breakfast, but I don’t have time to sit at the stove and cook them, wait for water to boil, etc. I simply follow the directions and let the eggs cook as I rush around getting ready for the day. It has been such a useful kitchen tool. The only downside is that it isn’t made of the most durable materials. My mom had to throw her first one out because the button to turn it on broke- it no longer lined up correctly in the slot and wires began poking out. However, there are usually sales for this product so it’s worth the price. Overall i am very satisfied with this product.

My husband loves Deviled Eggs (me too) I've had this cooker for almost 2 yrs and use it often. Some tips Use distilled water-- no calcium residue XL eggs use a little more water and leave the lid on a couple minutes after the timer goes off Use a bulletin board push pin to punture the eggs if you lose the one that came with the cooker. It takes about 1/3 cup water in case you lose the plastic measurer. So easy to make hard boiled eggs!

Horrific Alarm

When the cooking ends, it has the most bizarre nonstop alarm noise that sounds like a strange bagpipe jig. It does not stop until you attend to it. I would have thought it would be a normal simple buzzing noise.

Makes great hard boiled eggs. Very easy to use. Its smaller than the one our family had when I was a kid. And its not as sturdy so I don't know how long it will last. But it cooks up eggs surprisingly well.

I prefer hard boiled eggs. The hard boiled egg option still didn’t fully cook my egg like I like it. It took 12 minutes and my yolk was still slimy. I will stick to boiling my eggs in a pot. Great product for those that don’t like hard boiled eggs.

Grandma B - 4 months ago, Verified purchaser
I used the egg maker for the first time this morning and it seemed to work well. I made poached eggs. The white was a little bit more runny than I like but the yolk was perfect. It might have been because when I plugged it in it was on so the water reservoir heated up before I had the eggs in there. I think I will like it.
