Q: Are they compostable? Recyclable?

  • A: Hello, this is the customer response team at Georgia-Pacific. These plates are not compostable but, Dixie plates may be recycled when clean and dry. So, when deciding whether to recycle or toss, remember—if you ate a dry, mess-free meal like a quick sandwich and chips, just dust off those crumbs and dispose of the plate in the recycling bin. If you ate a messy, saucy meal that left grease stains on the plate, then dispose of it in the trash. Be sure to check acceptance with your local recycling program. Thank you.

    Dixie Plates Review!

    As a mother, I dread doing dishes. After trying a number of different brands of paper plates, Dixie is my favorite! Reason being, there are no quality issues. Because of their thickness and durability, the plates are safe to use in the microwave! There are no problems in the microwave when using it in there. Food does not soak into the plates compared to other brands. Reasonably priced, particularly the large value pack. Saves me a lot of money and time from washing dishes!

    Disappointed

    I usually love Dixie plates they are usually very strong and hold up to just about anything. But this batch I got this time suck. You have to use two or three together so they don’t fold and spill your food. I’m handicap and need one hand to hold my plate and the other to roll myself in my wheelchair. It’s expensive to have to use multiple plates at a time. I do use them for liquids only solid foods.
