Purpose

Stop use and ask a doctor if: you have rectal bleeding or fail to have a bowel movement after using this product. These could be a signs of a serious condition.,you need to use a laxative for more than 1 week.

Directions

Drink a full glass (8 oz) of liquid with each dose. Dose may be taken as a single daily dose or in divided doses. Do not exceed the maximum recommended daily dose in a 24 hour period.

Adults and Children 12 Years of Age and Over

Take 2 to 4 chews.

Children 6 to Under 12 Years of Age

Take 1 to 2 chews.

Children 4 to Under 6 Years of Age

Take 1 chew (single dose or in divided doses).

Children Under 4 Years of Age

Q: Can toddler's take this product?

  • A: Pedialax makes a magnesium hydroxide product for younger children, along with other remedies. It is 1/3 the dose as one of these chews. If diet or behavioral remedies don't work, magnesium can help the problem from worsening. Make sure you use it long enough that any discomfort from the original constipation has had a chance to heal, so that they don't start withholding stool. This is important for very young children like toddlers. They won't remember the 1000 comfortable poops they had before if one really hurts.

  • A: No they must be 6 years old or older. Call the doctor. Unfiltered apple juice does the trick with most toddler's.

Q: on the back of the bag it says magnesium hydroxide 1200mg at the top but at the very bottom it says magnesium 500mg.. which one is it per chew?

The 500 mg magnesium statement refers to the amount of elemental magnesium provided by that 1200 mg of magnesium hydroxide. Therefore, each chew contains 1200 mg magnesium hydroxide, equivalent to 500 mg magnesium.

Taste

When you are a little stuck these chews are a great option! The texture is like a piece of gum. The taste is fruity and doesn’t leave a bad aftertaste. Works pretty quick to relieve bloating and get your system working.

These do not work at all!! You might as well be chewing on gummy bears and they would taste better. I've tried to take them a couple times instead of a stimulant laxative but only got a stomach ache and no relief from constipation!

Texture is not the greatest I've used them several times and didnt gwt result in 30 min -6 hours it took much longer. It didnt create any side effect

The Sooner You Take, the Faster They Work

These DO WORK in about 3 hours if taken early on. If you wait too long, then it can be about 10 hours. Best to take when you know "things are sluggish" and will become worse. They soften the stool without violent intestinal upset. Taste great and work well while traveling.

Effective!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The texture of these were a bit strange, dry and yet chewy at the same time. The flavor was alright. However, they delivered their promise in less than 12 hours.

They don’t work

I took four of these with Joe two giant glasses of water. It’s now been three hours and zero nothing I do not recommend three hours of pain and misery. These should probably be good for children but not for an adult. I highly advise you to look for something else.

Definitely not 30 minutes or less, I took 4 chews around 4pm and went to the bathroom the next morning, before that I was in so much pain and it made my stomach so swollen and bloated it hurt to touch, the flavor was not that bad at first but then it got gross and it had a horrible after taste that stayed in my mouth all day,it worked but at what cost 😭

Works very well for me to be able to have regular movements , I wish there were other flavors . I got very sick of the mixed berry flavor .. it started making me nauseous after a month. So I haven’t been able to take them.
