Q: How can I bake at a lower temp? Both elements come on when I set the temperature to 350.

Q: Does the crumb tray come all the way off, or does it just open on a hinge and stay attached? I would like to take it all the way off for cleaning, but not sure if that is possible.

A: No it doesn't come out...I bought it; & when I got it home I was terribly disappointed...You push the middle button below backwards & It just flops down with the back part hanging attached on hinges..

I haven't used the tray yet but it's most likely a cheap tray and will rust badly if you leave it wet. But no, unless this tray has been infused with plastic (it's, not that would catch fire, also not possible) then it's no more dangerous than all your other baking trays, just make sure to dry it really well after washing it.

Honestly though if you have a normal-sized oven just use that. I only bought this because they're easier to clean than a conventional toaster, and I prefer heating up leftovers this way as opposed to a microwave.

Spend a little extra for something that will last more than 8 months. The knob broke after seven months, so we switched the top and bottom knobs. It lasted about another 2 weeks. Call manufacturer as it comes with a year warranty. The parts are only warrantied for 90 days. I also agree with the reviews that state it is a fire hazard. I have had toaster ovens for a long time. This is the only one that caught on fire.

Avoid at all costs- spend the money to find a different brand. It is a fire hazard. I put a piece of toast and it started a fire, it burns things instead of toasting them. I reached out to the manufacturer for a refund and they required me to cut the cord and have taken over a month to process my refund, I have yet to receive.

I bought this a few months ago and the knob to turn it on has already broken in half. It still works but I have to use pliers to turn the timer on. It also smells like something is burning every time I turn it on now. I can’t keep using it because it might start a fire.

For those who don’t like the ding it’s a safety feature to let you know that the toaster oven is on. BTW any kitchen appliance can be a fire hazard if you don’t keep an eye on it. I would highly recommend this. But please keep in mind that toaster ovens are not meant for potatoes or large food items like roasts. Toaster ovens is for toasting bread, muffins small food items.

Only good thing is no "stays on" setting that can be turned to inadvertently. Uneven toasting, blue light hard to see, no removable crumb tray with this model.

Other reviews are true, it's a fire hazard. Had it a couple of months only. I put 3 bread sticks to warm in there, a crumb fell on the metal heater part and a flame started.

Unfortunately, there is no "on", only a timer. I wish I realized this prior. Waste of my money. I had the prior model (five years ago) from the same company, Kitchen Smith. You could turn the dial to the left for "on", with no timer. Now I have to listen to the constant ticking. Incredibly annoying and very backwards. I threw it in the trash!
