Evolving Fun
I played this game with my 8yo son and we absolutely loved it! The cooperative play of the game made it a great way to bond and annoy rather than compete - we win or lose together! The 3D board was beautifully designed and really interesting to play. What we loved most was the way the game evolved with each new chapter adding additional rules, features, twists, turns and excitement! The game was really easy to pick up and follow but so cleverly detailed and well thought out. We received this game through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and will definitely recommend it to friends.

We love this legacy game!
We love to play games with our 10 year old and 8 year old but this was our first time playing a legacy game. Zigguart is certainly a cool game to play, and we enjoyed that as the game progresses through chapters, you are getting new rules and building on previous rounds. It was nice that each time you played you knew what to expect in some respects, but some things were changing, keeping you engaged. Additionally, each person's turn as a chance to impact everyone else's, so it keeps all player on the ball during the game, which can sometimes be a challenge with little kids and turn taking. It's also collaborative in that respect; your card and the moves you make can make or break the other player's turns. My 10 year told noted loving that the board game is 3D and you can go up and down in addition to around, adding to the excitement compared to a typical board game. My 8 year old especially loved the "cool pyramid look" of the board, and the details in the characters pictures. Each chapter/round you also have the chance to earn superlative-like awards, which you get to keep on your player card for the remainder of the game. All in all, we really enjoyed this game and the different aspects of it. The board style was neat, the game play was fun, and we got to work together to play a very different kind of game for our family. The chapters/rounds aren't too long, so you can play a chapter at a time without a huge commitment, though the game itself takes some time to finish. I received this game free from the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review.

Amazing Game!
I received this game through the Stellar Testing Product Panel, and my family absolutely loves it! When we first opened the box we felt a little overwhelmed, but it ended up being incredibly easy to set up and play. The written instructions and the video guide made everything simple to understand. One of my favorite features is the 3D board. It’s so easy to assemble and take apart, which makes storing it for future game nights a breeze. Once we figured out how to play each level, we were completely hooked! My kids and I didn’t want to stop playing because we were having so much fun. I also love how every level adds a new twist that keeps the game engaging and exciting. This game is an absolute blast, and we’re so happy we had the opportunity to test it. It’s definitely a new favorite for our family game nights!

Different than any other game i've played! So creative!
The Mindware Ziggurat Board Game wasn’t like any other game I have ever played before. It was very creative and well-designed, creating a storyline of play that expanded over and over as we reached each new level. Much like the video games my daughter loves that are unlocking new levels in a story, but I was so happy because this was screen free! Myself, my husband and my 8 year old daughter played it many nights in the course of a few weeks as we kept wanting to discover what the next level had in store for us. It was perfect for a family game night for all of us - not too complicated for my 8 year old to understand, but involved and detailed enough to keep the adults’ interest. When we first opened up the instruction booklet, I was worried it might be too complicated, but that was not at all the case. The instructions lay out the rules very well, in a clear and simple way. It is also very smart the way they have the first time/level you play be fairly simple so you’re able to understand how to play fairly easily and quickly. It does get a little more complicated as you increase levels, and sometimes we got a little more confused with what to do with new items (do we use them every turn, as much as we want?)…but never too confusing to where we got frustrated or stopped playing. The way the game is designed definitely makes us want to keep playing night after night to reach each new level! For us, we would play one level per night, which took us about 30-60 minutes. The game board itself was very creative with the 3d aspect, and we loved throwing the fire spirits into the pits! I will say, though, that because the pieces were small, we definitely knocked things over a lot. Our favorite part was the booklet you got to open at the start of a level and then when you win that level…there were so many new cute things to find and add to the game, they were always such fun surprises! But besides the minor things I mentioned, we really loved the game and will look for similar ones to play in the future. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this family board game!

Great intro to Legacy adventure games with the family
I was given this family Ziggurat Board Game by Mindware to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review. Our family of 4 which consists of Mom, Dad, and two boys aged six and ten, enjoyed learning this new board game so much. We have never heard of Legacy Games before so it was a great learning experience and opportunity for us to have fun screen-free gaming activity with our kids. Frankly, we had to do some internet research to find out what the difference is between Legacy Games and regular board games. The differences are very noticeable and it gives Legacy Games a fun and interesting twist that puts you at the edge of your seat in trying to figure out and anticipate what’s coming next. It turns out Legacy Game is sort of a game that changes depending on the decisions made and the objectives change when everyone makes it to the end of each objective separated by chapters. The chapters present a different story and the obstacles to overcome are added giving it a new twist at each turn. We had to go through chapter 2 about 4 times and since it’s a cooperative style game we had to make decisions together to accomplish the chapter’s goal and objectives. The game allows you to open a specific material in the box in case you fail to conquer a specific chapter. In a way, I secretly wanted to fail a chapter just to see what the packet will reveal. So far, I have never seen or heard from another game board that can be set up as a 3D. This feature makes it a lot more interesting and exciting. It’s also fun that you can choose your own characters and name them yourself. We all had fun naming our own characters! There’s a board card for each of the characters that have spaces to gather “items” and “achievements” that come in a sticker form and added to each player’s character board card as the game progresses. The characters have a player sturdy cardboard piece that can stand on its own by inserting a cross sturdy cardboard stand. I was not a big fan of this stand because the pieces kept falling off even on flat surfaces. Also, the Ziggurat levels are narrow for some of the character pieces that are a bit wider and some areas have limited spaces on them. The artwork of the characters is, as I would call it, as having a hint of anime-style in an ethereal forest. Our family really liked the characters artwork. There’s a mix of elves and personified animals too. The rules are very easy to understand but for a first timer I strongly recommend watching the videos for instructions prior to open the game in front on impatient kids. Our kids couldn’t wait to start playing and we were trying to understand the game rules after our kids saw the game. Our little one set up the Ziggurat himself and didn’t wait for us, which made it a bit challenging to get the whole set up ready to play. The turns for each player are defined by a set of shuffled deck of cards that give you what spaces to move in certain direction. Also, it tells you the obstacles that need to move positions. Each card is very similar to the next, so for our kindergartener it was an easy way to practice his emerging reading skills with our assistance. He felt confident he was able to read the majority of the text on his own with only very little help. We loved how one of the obstacles the game presents is the introduction of a dragon that hides inside the Ziggurat and needs to be fed the offerings the players gather. Our kids were very engaged in the game. Actually the whole family was engaged. Each chapter took about 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. So we were able to do 2 rounds of a chapter per day back to back. I wonder how the game can be played again from the start with different characters though. I have to figure that out because the achievements are stickers and even though they may be able to be reused, I’m a bit unsure how to possibly get a new set of stickers and board cards to have the history of each player’s character. This game needs more exposure, definitely! I’m sure there’s tons of other board games that are popular but I don’t think there’s a game like this one that can be enjoyed by all family members, young and old. Ziggurat gives a fresh and unique gaming experience. I think playing 1 hour per chapter is a very reasonable time for a busy family. Now I’m very curious to see what other legacy games will be published by Mindware in the future. We’re really excited about Ziggurat that my kids kept asking to play again and again, and that rarely happens, so that means I we found a good one!

Cooperative, not Competitive, Fun!
This is the first cooperative game my family has played and it is so much fun! The game itself has a unique premise, not only by having a 3D game board, but by having the story change each time you play based on decisions made the time/level before. I like this aspect of the game A LOT! Even through multiple playthroughs you won't ever play the exact same game twice. I also really appreciate that this isn't a competitive game, especially with kids who seem to want to make EVERYTHING a competition. Ziggurat is just an all around imaginative fun time for the whole family that I whole heartedly recommend! I received a copy of this game for free courtesy of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

(no review title)
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this family board game. Playing Ziggurat was such a fun and memorable experience for my family. What I loved most was how the game brought everyone together. We weren’t competing but truly teaming up, cheering each other on as we climbed the tower and dodged the fire spirits. It felt exciting but not stressful. The game itself feels incredibly smooth and engaging to play. Each round introduced something new, and I really enjoyed how the game evolved as we progressed through the chapters. Every new twist made us curious about what was coming next, and it kept us wanting to continue the adventure. The 3D moving board was a huge highlight. It looks great on the table, and the shifting platforms, ladders, and slides made the game feel alive. The kids and adults were equally fascinated by how the board changed and interacted with our moves. The best part was how the game helped our family connect. We laughed, planned strategies together, celebrated small victories, and even learned how to communicate better as a team. It’s rare to find a game that’s easy enough for younger players (my 8 year old needed a little help) yet interesting enough for adults. Ziggurat hit that balance perfectly. Overall, it’s a fun and visually impressive game that brought us closer and gave us a shared adventure we’ll definitely remember.

MindWare Ziggurat Board Game - Family Game Time!
The game was a blend of communication, teamwork and strategy which are all great skills for our kids to develop. We had to do all of those in order to survive each mission and move on to the next. The secret message at the end of each chapter was a nice touch to keep everyone engaged throughout the round. The graphics for the box, parts and instructions were very cool and well done, our kiddos loved them. Overall, we are very impressed with the game and would recommend it to families with younger kids to build important soft skills. We'll be having more family game nights with this one for sure! Thank you to Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing us with this family-friendly board game to review!

Legacy Game Newbie
I was given this family board game to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. As someone who has never played a legacy board game before, I felt a little intimidated at first. But after going through the rules and storybook, it was easy to understand and me and my 9 year old picked it up pretty quickly. I also appreciated the QR Code in the Rules and Chapter book that sends you to a video demonstrating the game being played. My son is a visual learner, and this really helped him understand the game better. We both really loved the team cooperation aspect of the game. It made us think ahead about our next moves based on yours and your teammates cards. I liked how with each Chapter the game changed and evolved, and how the end of the chapter has a hidden message that doesn't get opened until you complete that round. The mystery aspect of the chapters really made it exciting, like "what was going to happen next?" Each chapter was a little more challenging than the previous one, keeping you engaged the whole time. The addition of stickers to the game board and player cards is a fun and creative part of the game as well. Overall, this game provided my son and me with some screen-free fun, playing a game that we had to work together to beat. I'm happy this was my first experience with a legacy-style game and we both look forward to playing this again.

Standout FUN family game!
What I loved most was how every round built on the last and nothing felt repetitive. The play evolved in a way that kept us engaged, thinking, and laughing as the tension rises. It included strategy, anticipation, and a fun hands on element that felt different than other games. My family found ourselves talking through strategies, cheering each other on, and celebrating the little victories. Highly recommend for families or groups looking for something unique, interactive, and genuinely fun! Note: I received the game as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Nice entry to legacy board games
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this family board game. The board is well constructed, but the design of the different pyramid levels and the box itself could have used more thought. The ledges that the player pieces go on are just a little narrow that our player pieces were falling off quite a bit. Also, there's no obvious dedicated spot for the loose pieces in the box, and since the levels don't come apart, they have to go in first and then we just end up throwing in the remaining pieces so everything fits. The game itself is pretty straightforward to learn. We've only had time to get play the first two rounds. The first round was pretty easy and we finished it quickly so I was a little worried that the game would be too easy. The second round, however, proved a little more challenging and took longer with the added rules and game pieces. So far the goal of each round is to make it to the top of the pyramid while avoiding obstacles before the cards run out. It's simple in the sense that you can only go left or right and if there are obstacles one way you just go the other, but the obstacles on the board can also move, so it takes some collective thinking to plan ahead. Each player has a card telling you the number of moves the player and obstacles can move, so you can work as a group to plan ahead. Definitely a game for younger kids, but challenging enough for adults to stay engaged. The manual says you can play different rounds again as way to keep playing the game even after you finish it, which I'm looking forward to, because my impression of legacy games is that it's one and done.

So unique!!
This was such a surprisingly fun find! As others have mentioned, the instructions appear daunting at the beginning, but once you start playing it definitely makes sense. I have a six-year-old and a nine-year-old and both were able to grasp the concept of the game. We had a lot of fun working together and trying to achieve each chapter so that we could move on. The kids would strategize together on the best route to get everyone to the top.On multiple occasions, the kids talked about how much fun the game was and that they could not wait to finish homework so that we could play the next chapter. The gameboard, book, and graphics are all beautifully done. I just wish the summit was a little bit bigger on the top so that each character could sit there while waiting for others to join. But that is a very minor issue when the overall game is so much fun. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this family board game. I will definitely look for more games from this brand with this unique concept!

Family friendly tabletop role playing game!
Ziggurat has quickly become a favorite TTRPG in our household! Thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel, we were able to try this fun adventure. Honestly, it feels more like an adventure like DnD than a typical board game. Getting into the characters you create is so fun. The mechanics and strategic depth of this game are strong while still being able to be understood and executed by children. My children (ages 7 and 9) immediately asked to play this game again with my husband and I after completing its 6 chapter saga. The 3D, moveable board is a really cool element (though some of the pieces weren’t as sturdy as I’d like since my kids don’t have the best coordination- lots of “man down!” situations). We actually ended up using a lazy susan to put the board on so we could move the levels/board around more easily. The game being cooperative makes for great family bonding and the way the game evolves through each chapter keeps excitement in each turn. It was great to see the strategies my kids came up with for their characters and I truly felt like this game amped up their creative thinking skills. Ziggurat is a new staple in our household for sure!

Unique and fun board game to play as a family!
I didn't have high hopes for the MindWare Ziggurat Board Game, expecting another run-of-the-mill experience involving standard dice-rolling, character movement, and familiar board layouts. I was completely wrong. This game is a fantastic departure from the norm and was genuinely enjoyable to play with my 9-year-old. What We Loved: 3D Design: The game immediately captured our attention with its pyramid configuration. Moving across a three-dimensional board, unlike most flat-surface games, created a unique and engaging challenge. Immersive Storytelling: I loved the narrative approach. The game is packaged like a book, and playing it feels like progressing through chapters. The unfolding story significantly affects gameplay, drawing us deeper into the experience. Exceptional Quality: The materials are top-notch. The sturdy board components, punch-out pieces, characters, and cards all contribute to an elevated, durable playing experience. Kid-Friendly Engagement: It's incredibly easy for younger players (8+) to jump in. My child quickly grasped the rules and was actively engaged in reading the narrative and discovering the subsequent turns of events in each chapter. My only critique is that the high novelty factor is largely tied to the first playthrough. Once you reveal the surprise elements, rules, and goals of each chapter, some of the mystery fades, and the game's long-term replay value might be diminished. [I was given this product by the Stellar Product Testing Panel for the purpose of an honest review.]

A Unique Adventure
Firstly, I was gifted this game by the Stellar Product Panel to review. My family enjoys playing games together fairly frequently, but we had never encountered a game like this before. Ziggurat is a cooperative, story-based game that changes after each round. You open different panels in a book to read parts of the story, get new rules, and discover new items. If you successfully complete a chapter, you move on to the next. If you lose twice in a row, you are given some helpful items to help you win the next time around (we only needed the added assistance once). I played with my 8 year old daughter and game-loving husband. My daughter really enjoyed opening each panel after every chapter and we all found the format of adding new rules and items to be fun and kept us wanting to play a new round. My daughter rates the game a 4.5 and her favorite parts were the characters and story. My husband rated it a 4 and said his favorite part was that it was a cooperative game, but challenging (most cooperative games tend to be quite simple). I also rate the game a 4 and liked that the gameplay felt dynamic with the continuing changes after each chapter, but it wasn’t overwhelming because it added on gradually. We have completed 4 out of 6 chapters at this point and are eager to hear the complete story. I do wonder how it was be to replay the game after completing it once through. We did generally enjoy the 3D gameboard, though it could be slightly larger scale, and sometimes it isn’t difficult to get the pieces to stay on their spot in certain places. There are also many small pieces- we are quite careful with our games, but I could see them being easily lost. The final challenge of each game session is getting the game back into the box properly, which takes a bit of practice. Finally, I’d recommend this game to families looking for something unique that allows people to work together.

Such a fun game!
Product received as part of Stellar Product Testing Panel This game is such a fun game to play! My children and I have played three chapters so far and they are looking forward to play more. The storyline is simple but holds their attention. Gameplay is easy to follow as well, which is an added bonus. With every new chapter the gameplay shifts, adding new challenges. Overall Ziggurat is a great family game that draws the attention of my children, which says a lot due to their struggles sitting still. We highly recommend it!

Great introduction to role-playing games!
Our family loves to play board games and this MindWare Ziggurat Board Game was the perfect introduction to role-playing games, especially for our children ages 9 and 11. We loved the beautifully crafted 3D board with the gorgeous graphic design. It was very well made with sturdy quality cardboard. Assembly and storage is quick and easy. The gameplay is simple yet engaging with added rules and difficulty for each new chapter. We all enjoyed creating our character names. This game is excellent for learning to work together to accomplish a common goal. It has been a great, fun family game. We would suggest using a turntable during gameplay as it really enhances the experience being able to view all sides. We definitely recommend this fun, engaging game to play with your children or to introduce simple role-play. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this family board game.

A TTRPG-like game perfect for the whole family!
Ziggurat turned out to be exactly the kind of adventure my family had been craving without quite knowing it. As a longtime fan of pen and paper role-playing games with kids still too young for full RPG systems, I loved how this created a true “campaign” feel in a format they could easily follow. Each of the six chapters brought new surprises, mechanics, and story beats, and the cooperative play made it easy for everyone to feel like they were part of the same quest. Before receiving this game from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I had never heard of legacy games and wasn’t sure how I would feel about permanently modifying such a high-quality board. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Adding stickers and writing on character cards quickly became one of our favorite elements because those changes made our decisions feel meaningful and lasting. A few of the twists even caught us so off guard that we all said, "Whoa, that’s so cool!" Even though the permanent changes may limit replay value if you want to replay the game with an entirely new group later, the experience was strong enough that it felt like a worthwhile trade-off for a family campaign we genuinely looked forward to each day. The physical design of the board also really enhanced the experience. The 3D layout, built from foam and plastic pieces that slot together cleanly, felt sturdy and fun to handle, and it was surprisingly easy to move or pack away when we needed the table back. The storage layout inside the box was refreshingly sensible too, with none of that feeling that you need to solve a tiny puzzle just to close the lid. Most importantly, Ziggurat became a great way to bring my family together around something a little more complex than our usual games. My kids kept up with the rules, stayed excited for each new chapter, and we all walked away wanting to explore more legacy games. For us, it was the perfect stepping stone toward more complex pen and paper role-playing experiences, and I’m hopeful it sparks their interest in tabletop RPGs down the road.
