This National Geographic Magic set is really neat! I got it as a surprise for my 3rd grader’s last day of school and he hasn’t stopped playing with it since! It has a lot of neat tricks and our whole family has been quite entertained!

I received this product via the Hey, Bullseye program. This set is really fun. My son and I had fun figuring out the different tricks. I think the coin and card tricks are our favorites! Definitely recommend!

My 9YO loves this set, but some of the tricks were a little too difficult. The favorite ones were the magic bricks/mysterious boxes, the cups & balls, and the levitating wand. Card tricks and a couple of coin tricks take a bit of patience and practice. The paper directions that come with the set only explain 3 of the tricks and they’re hard to understand. The videos are wonderful, though—just know that a kid is going to need access to a screen to really reap the benefits of this set. Each video shows the tricks and then gives a thorough explanation.

Thank you @Target and #heybullseye for the magic set in exchange for an honest review. My 11 year old loves this magic set. It is the best mix of education and entertainment. The high quality of the kit is what you would expect from National Geographic!

This is a pretty fun magic set. It feels nostalgic- I know at some point I had something similar as a kid. I would say the pieces and parts are not exactly made to last forever, but, there are plenty of pieces for a variety of tricks. My son is almost 7, so he is a little younger than the recommended age. But suuuper smart and interested in magic, so I thought he may be ready for it. Unfortunately I was wrong. Most of the tricks are just too complicated for him. There were a couple he could kind of do, but for the most part he has just been sort of playing with the pieces and pretending to do magic tricks. Which is actually pretty cute. I would say this would be best for 9-11 year olds. I wish there were more written instructions. Instead there's a collection of videos you can watch. But that's the way of things now.

This cute little magic kit was extremely fun for my 7 year old. Comes with simple instructions on how to make each magic trick work. He really had fun playing with this and thinking he was a magician.

First the pros. The set is cute, with items organized into little baggies, making it easy to know what tricks and pieces go to which items, easy to pack back away, assuming you and your kids can be organized. Mine are not so eventually chaos will happen but I appreciate this upfront. The tricks are fairly easy to figure out for the most part, assuming you know the tricks anyways. The downside is the included booklet, though the instructions are easy enough for kids to read and figure out, they arent complete and dont include all tricks. Theres a QR code you can scan to watch how to videos, but the video titles are hard to read on a device as they cut off and they arent organized per kit, so can cause kid and honestly parent frustration if they are tapped in to help. The tricks themselves are made with a thicker more durable plastic so they can withstand kids play. Everyones favorite trick was the hidden coin in the box. Even my 7 year old could do this trick easily! All in all I rated this 4 stars due to the instructions being incomplete, and the videos being mildly frustrating to find the one you want.

My 11, 8 and 6 year old have enjoyed this magic set. My 11 year old has only made one negative comment and I tend to agree with her. You can only learn magic tricks by looking at the YouTube channel and YouTube channel is hard navigate. You have to play each video to see what they are teaching you. The videos need to be labeled and that would change my review.

National Geographic really has some fun play sets and this one is quite different than many of their other ones. I’m not much into magic, but it has a fun array of items to keep one entertained. Would make a good gift.

My kiddo is 8 yrs old and loves the magic kit and the best part are the magic cards. It came with an instruction manual, but we opted to use tue YouTube videos that went with it. The only thing we werent happy about there is a video with a foam finger and it isnt included in the kit.

My 10 year old enjoyed learning some of these tricks. He’s demonstrated the ones he’s mastered to us multiple times. He said the videos weren’t super helpful because some of them included props that weren’t in the kit. He said it’s also hard to tell what each lesson was about because the thumbnails for the videos are all the same.

My kids (8 & 10) really enjoyed this magic kit! The tricks were easy to learn and the video instructions were fun and simple to follow. The pieces to the tricks inside had a good range of variety and had modifications of simple to more advanced. There was a qr code to scan and bring up the YouTube page for videos. The problem was there are so many videos and you can't see all the titles on mobile, so it was hard to tell which videos went with the kit. Some of the videos must have went with other kits because we did not have the pieces..so that was a bit confusing.

My daughter loves this magic kit and it gave us hours of playtime. It’s a really neat kit. It comes with multiple items for multiple tricks. It has an instruction manual for some tricks, and a QR code with videos for the other tricks. My daughter learned a lot and was impressed, and I even learned a little too. Her friends love when she does tricks for them. This is a really cool item for kids and promotes learning.

My children love this kit. It comes with Four types tricks. It has cups for cup tricks. As well as cards for cads tricks. And coin for coin tricks and A puzzle box that Lego looking pieces go in. It’s nice multiple children can use a kit at once as long as they’re doing the different types of tricks.

This is a super fun magic set. It comes with a lot of different pieces, and it explains what to do in simple terms so even my 8 and 11 year old were able to open it and start doing tricks without my help.

Fun, Educational and a Great Gift Idea!

The National Geographic Magic Set is a fantastic gift for kids who love to perform and explore how things work. Right out of the box, it includes several props and tools so your child can jump into the fun immediately. The included instruction booklet covers a handful of tricks (about 4-5), and the magic wand and specialized deck add a nice touch for making the experience feel authentic. One of the best parts is the educational twist, it introduces the science behind the illusions, which gives it even more value beyond entertainment. My child found the tricks easy to learn and had a great time practicing and performing for our family. The only drawback is that to access the full 35+ magic tricks advertised, you need to go online to watch video lessons. While the videos are helpful, it would have been great to have more tricks included in the physical guide. Overall, this kit offers a strong mix of fun, learning, and quality time, definitely a hit in our house!

This is a fun starter kit for kids. There are only 3 magic trick instructions included and the rest must be accessed via their website. My child has internet access but it would be difficult for children without internet to learn the magic tricks.
