Q: Why does this say alcohol free but it contains benzyl alcohol?
A: Thank you for your inquiry. The term “alcohol” used for labeling of foods, drugs and cosmetics in the United States pertains to “ethyl alcohol” (intoxicating agent found in beer, wine, and liquor). While the label states it contains “Benzyl Alcohol”, it doesn’t contain “ethyl alcohol”, and therefore it meets the FDA definition of "alcohol free".
