It worked very well for me, I got tall, green grass in only a few weeks after application. As the matter of fact it work so well, I’m seriously contemplating using for overseeding. (Don’t forget to do the prep work and water as much as needed!.)

Bought this 3 weeks ago to fill in a couple bare spots in my lawn, and it ended up being nothing but straight crabgrass. Now I have an even worse problem with a TON of crabgrass spreading all over my front lawn and it looks absolutely horrible. Just wanted to fill in a few bare spots and ended up with a terrible crabgrass filled front lawn that looks exponentially worse than before I added the Scott’s EZ Seed. Would give 0 stars if I could. DO NOT USE and avoid this stuff like the plague

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts® EZ Seed® Patch & Repair Sun and Shade and appreciate your feedback. Our grass seed is harvested in June/July, well before the time of crabgrass maturity which occurs during late summer when it sets seed. Therefore it's not possible our crop can be contaminated with crabgrass seeds. It is normal to have some weeds germinate when seeding. Soil preparation brings weed seeds to the surface. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. Limitations apply. Hello. We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts EZ Seed Patch & Repair Sun & Shade and appreciate your feedback. To get the best results, we suggest applying Scotts Ez Seed Patch & Repair Sun And Shade when your soil temperatures are at least 55 degrees and air temperatures are consistently above 65 degrees. Too much or not enough water can inhibit germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times a day to keep the seeds moist until germination. Afterward, we suggest watering 1-1 1/2" per week as needed. If there was any weed control used prior to seeding, it will prevent the seeds from germinating. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. Limitations apply. Bought this product to reseed lawn full of bare spots due to grubs. First raked out old grass, sticks etc. and loosened remaining dirt. Sprinkled Scott ‘s product , as recommended, to just cover exposed soil. Then sprinkled top soil over top of product to just cover it. This kept birds from eating seed, wind and lawn mowers from blowing it away, and rain and water from moving seed. Watered twice a day. Saw first blades of grass at about 4-5 days. After about 3 weeks, grass had grown in so well, I couldn’t tell new growth with existing lawn. Great!

We're sorry to hear you're not thrilled with your Scotts Ezseed Tall Fescue results. We appreciate you letting us know. Let's get you back on track to a great looking lawn. To get those seeds sprouting, keep the soil moist with a good watering 1-2 times a day until they sprout. After that, aim for about 1-1.5 inches of water per week, as needed. Too much or too little water can mess with those seeds, so keep an eye on it. We want you to be confident in our products. That's why we offer a product guarantee. If you're not happy with the results after using this product, you can get your money back. Limitations apply. If you need any further assistance, please give us a shout at 888-270-3714. We're here to help you get the lawn you've always wanted. Thanks for reaching out!

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Ezseed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. Temperature plays a critical role in seedling germination. Soil temperatures for northern (cool season) type turfgrass seeds (Kentucky bluegrass, ryegrass, and fescue) must be at least 55° F for the seeds to germinate. For best results, daytime temperatures must typically be in the 60-80 °F range and not go below 50 °F at night. Soil temperatures for warm-season grass seed (bermudagrass, zoysiagrass, centipedegrass, bahiagrass) must be around 70° F for the seeds to germinate. For best results, daytime temperatures should be 77° F or higher and not go below 60° F at night. Seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night or are fluctuating from high day temperatures to very low nighttime temperatures. The best time to seed cool-season grasses is early to mid-fall. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. Limitations apply. I tried this on a half dozen urine spots. It was easy to apply and some grass did germinate, but overall very little grass grew. I do recall thinking how much mulch and how few seeds there were in the areas where I applied it. Maybe I bought a batch that was more mulch than seed? I wound up reseeding the areas with Scott's EZ seed, which grew very well.

Hi, we're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts EZ Seed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. I am very unhappy with this product. Every spot I tried to use this grew mostly weeds. I had better luck with straight seed from a different company. I thought because of the cost, name and having everything in one container it would perform over and above other cheaper competitors. I was sadly mistaken.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts EZ Seed For Fescue Lawns and appreciate your feedback. All Scotts seeds are thoroughly cleaned and are 99.9% weed seed free. However, it is normal to have some weeds germinate when seeding. Weed seeds can be blown or carried into an area prior to the grass seed becoming established. We recommend establishing the lawn first, then controlling the weeds after. A healthy, thick lawn will ward off most weeds. We want you to be confident in our products. I removed a flower bed and replaced with EZ seed last Fall I got decent growth after 2 weeks but never survived Winter. Also seeded on West side of house and never got growth, and re-seeded this Spring and after 2 weeks still nothing watered everyday. Have had better luck with plain seed and starter fertilizer, which I may end up doing.

Hello. We're sorry for the disappointment you have experienced with the results of your recent seeding effort. We would like to offer a few tips that may be helpful to you in future seeding endeavors. As with any seed product, Scotts Ezseed Tall Fescue requires both continuous moisture and warm soil temperatures. When one of these conditions is missing, poor germination is the result. Be sure to spread the Scotts EZ Seed Patch & Repair evenly over the prepared area. It should be sparsely applied to a depth of about 1/16" to 1/8" thick. If Scotts Ezseed Tall Fescue has been applied too thickly, germination will be poor. Also, make sure that no weed control or weed prevention product has been used where you are seeding, as those products will also prevent or inhibit the germination of the seed. When used on newly germinated lawns, herbicides will kill off the new grass. We hope these extra tips are helpful. Temperature plays a critical role in seedling germination. We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Ezseed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. Different grasses germinate at different times. Germination times on label are based upon the grass type in the bag that will germinate the quickest. For Cool Season Grasses (Bluegrass, Ryegrass, and Fescue) Soil temperatures must be at least 55°F (+12.7°C) for grass seed to germinate. The warmer the soil, the faster the germination. This generally requires daytime temperatures consistently in the 65+°F (18.3°C) range for cool season grasses. In the spring it takes a lot of consistent warm temperatures to warm up the soil, especially in the northern states. Cool night-time temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Cold weather will delay germination but will not hurt the seed. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. I have a fescue lawn and every spring I have bare spots that require patching. I usually put on grass seed, work it into the soil and put on a light covering for moisture and I see grass in 7 to 10 days. I tried Scot's EZ patch this year and after 10 days saw no growth and after 14 days saw some growth but not enough to take care of my patches. Scotts is high priced and in this case was definitely NOT worth it/
