Too much or not enough water can inhibit germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times a day to keep the seeds moist until germination. Afterward, we suggest watering 1-1 1/2" per week as needed. For best results, daytime temperatures must typically be in the 60-80 °F range and not go below 50 °F at night. Soil temperatures for warm-season grass seed (bermudagrass, zoysiagrass, centipedegrass, bahiagrass) must be around 70° F for the seeds to germinate. For best results, daytime temperatures should be 77° F or higher and not go below 60° F at night. Seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night or are fluctuating from high day temperatures to very low nighttime temperatures.
