Need a little break-in period.
Initial impression: "At least I didn't waste too much money on these nasty sounding phones!" Muted treble and bass, leaving a midrange mush, absolute garbage sound signature. After 12 hours of moderate volume break-in: "Wow. Just wow. Now I see what people are raving about!" Clear, airy treble, defined mids, and a clean textured bass. Not a basshead set of headphones, but full sounding. These are a joy to listen to. I'm tempted to buy an extra set!

Right up there with the industry standard!
I consider the $80-90 Sony headphones as the industry standard for flat, uncolored sound. You'll see them in a lot of videos in recording studios on the talent in the booths. These Monoprice headphones are right up there with them in terms of sound quality and uncolored, balanced lows, mids and high frequency reproduction. I couldn't be happier with the value of these cans.

Solid, clear sound without being bass-heavy
Purchased these wired headphones because I wanted to see if they would improve my music experience. Paired with an inexpensive Alex Cavalli headphone amp (available from Monoprice), they really sound great! Super clear, they were tuned a bit more to the higher frequencies but mellowed out over time. Construction is super solid, they are comfortable, and I can't imagine getting much better headphones at this price point. YMMV but I was very pleasantly surprised by these headphones! Some one mentioned the super long cord and yeah, it's a bit old school but if you're lying in bed, listening to music, you'll need that extra length...

Heavy but comfortable
These are solid well constructed headphones. The sound is clean and even. These have very good bass response but not muddy.

the right headphones for me
I love love love these headphones. I bought two of these, one for work and one for home. They sit super comfortably on my head, fit well but no pressure/pain. The plug is heavy duty and fits my laptop jack. I've tried other over the head headphones and some were too tight, some too loose, and some had flimsy plugs that slid out of the laptop if the cord got moved.

Great Sound Transparent Headphones
Comfortable with good sound quality. They fit heads large and small but don't over extend against the wiring!

Nice headphones
I let headphones break in for 15 hours and then listened to streaming music in HD. They sound good for price point. I am very satisfied. I have 6 sets of Monoprice headphones. They are best bang for your buck company.

Good Value
Well worth the price. I find the sound to be pleasant and they are comfortable. They are also solidly built. I've owned phones that sound better, perhaps, (AKG, Sony, Beyer)but they all cost 3 times more than these if not more. These will satisfy most casual listener's needs .

Not DT 770's - And thats ok
First things first...the pro's 1. Comfortable as heck 2. For $50, they sounds very solid 3. Built solid, great headband 4. Fairly good sound separation Cons 1. A little muddy - they are NOT the 770s 2. Bass a tad too heavy Thats really it. The bass kinda drags down the otherwise pleasant mids and highs. These are perfectly useable for podcasts, CASUAL mixing, and CASUAL music listening. I think 50 bucks is the perfect asking price, and I am happy with them for the $40 sale price from a few weeks ago.

Great headphones
I really like these headphones. I wanted headphones with a flat response curve that didn't cost a lot. I have a pair of Brainwave HM5's but I've been having problems with my ears and thought headphones with an open back would be better. I love the sound and spaciousness of these headphones. They do have more bass than my HM5's. They are very comfortable to wear.

Beyerdynamic Sound at a Yard Sale Price
These look like a modified clone of the Beyerdynamic DT880. I have the Beyerdynamic DT770's and these sound almost identical to them - I mean I don't know if could accurately pick out the right one in a blind listening test. I think I could but maybe not. The 770's might ( emphasis on might ) have a slightly tighter bass but I wouldn't call it better. These are built well, have great sound and the price is a third of the Beyerdynamics. It takes about 2 hours of break-in for the bass to get right but then you get beautiful, satisfying, deep and powerful bass that is not boomy or exaggerated. The mids are good. The highs are somewhat bright but not annoying. The only negative for me is that the highs do accentuate distortion with some songs and may even exaggerate it some. That is the same for these and the Beyerdynamic's. With 98% of my music this is not a problem. I do like to use the EQ to warm them up slightly but I do that for most of my headphones. These are an outstanding value.

Best Sound under 100, with a couple changes
This is my first time with a pair of semi-open headphones and I gotta say wow, the sound and clarity these things have are crazy good sound for 40 dollars. The bass is tight and present without being too muddy, the treble and mids are also really good without being overbearing. However this sound is only achieved once i did two things. One was to buy a new pair of earpadds as the stock ones are kind of small and cheap for me. I bought a pair of Wicked Cushion Hybrid pads. They sound muffled at first, so the second thing I did was take the foam out around the circle so that i could see the driver. After doing this, I am satisfied with the sound these headphones are capable of. Will recommend to everyone who is into a bright-ish warm sound signature.

Natural, detailed, uncolored, and comfortable!
Just got these today, 10/15/2021. Very nice! I use these for critical listening. I have 108 vintage phono cartridges, and I use headphones for setting alignment, evaluating new styli, evaluating correct stylus force, and comparing cartridges and styli. I also compare different turntables. My old headphones had too much sound coloration. These really do allow you to hear around you while listening carefully to music. My wife can get my attention in a normal voice. They are comfortable for long listening. Not too heavy, either. The sound is very, very detailed, but natural. Not booming bass that sounds like a plastic trash can! Tight, low, controlled bass. Midrange is smooth and full, but not emphasized. The treble is well extended, but not etchy. I can hear faint differences in cartridges with these phones. Using the same cartridge, I can make very fine distinctions in styli, between brands. And, I can hear faint distortion to make adjustments in tracking force. I can hear changes using different phono preamps. These are very sensitive to musical nuances. But for just enjoying music, I like them also! They sound a lot like listening to my room speakers. Very detailed, smooth, airy, and natural. Very little ?headphone sound? coloration. Tight, realistic bass.
