  • Store and Transfer Data: Both SD and microSD card slots are included, each of which is individually addressed, so they can be used at the same time. They support the UHS I Speed Class (104MBps) and the SD, MMC, SDHC, and SDXC formats, which allow for capacities up to 2TB. One USB 3.0 Type C and two Type A ports allow you to connect a variety of external peripherals, such as hard drives, flash drives, printers, and keyboard and mouse input devices. They support data transfer rates up to 5Gbps, which is more than 10x faster than the older USB 2.0 standard.
  • Fast Charging: The USB C port supports up to 100W of USB Type C Power Delivery (PD) passthrough, allowing you to rapidly charge a laptop or other USB C compatible device. One of the Type A ports can provide 5 VDC, 1.5A (7.5W) of charging power for rapid charging of mobile devices.
  • Fast Ethernet: A Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jack allows you to stay connected to your Ethernet network at speeds more than 3 times faster than Wi Fi.

Description

The Monoprice 7 in 1 USB C Multiport 4K HDMI Adapter is an all in one video, data, and connectivity solution for USB C equipped laptops and computers with support for the DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode. You can extend your desktop with a second HDMI monitor with support for resolutions up to 4K@60Hz. It features both SD and microSD 3.0 card slots with support for the UHS I Speed Class and 104MBps read speeds. Each card slot is compatible with the MMC, SD, SDHC, and SDXC formats with capacities up to 2TB and is individually addressed, so they can be used at the same time. Two USB 3.0 Type A ports and one Type C port provide data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps, so you can connect a variety of USB peripherals and devices. The USB C port supports up to 100W of Power Delivery (PD) and one of the Type A ports supports 5 VDC, 1.5A (7.5W) of charging power, so you can keep all your devices fully charged and ready for use. The Gigabit Ethernet port ensures that you can always stay connected to your network with speeds more than 3 times faster and Wi Fi. This adapter is compatible with USB C equipped Windows and macOS systems that support DisplayPort Alt Mode, as well as systems with a Thunderbolt 3 connection.

Handy adapter

I bought this as a cheap alternative to an actual Thunderbolt 4 adapter. I specifically chose this one for the Ethernet port (which works well). It would have been nice to have a few USB C ports and a longer cable, but the adapter really helped clean up my computer wiring.

Features I needed for a fair price

I needed a hub for a new Apple M2 Air to support my USB mouse, a USB CD/DVD reader, and SD card reader. Has all that for a fair price. Works flawlessly.

Very good, except

It does just what I wanted to, except that the ethernet connection doesn?t connect. It?s good that I have a couple of work-arounds, but I don?t think I can recommend this device.

So far all I have tested is the USB C charging and portable hard drives in the USB A connections. I am using this on a Lenovo Legion S7, the USB A connections work for portable hard drives as long as you have external USB C power plugged into the device. As far as the USB C charging, it starts charging when in use but then stops and has to be unplugged and plugged back in. Overall it?s decent, not what I wanted but for $30 ?

Excellent hub

I use this hub with both a 2021 16" MacBook Pro and a Steam Deck. It works perfectly with both devices- 4K at 60Hz out of the Steam Deck included! I still use SD and microSD and ethernet connections pretty regularly, so it is great to have everything available on this hub. I plan on purchasing another, so one can live permanently at my desk for the Mac!
