clearly, the hinges are a design fault. something sony must have been absolutely aware of even before launching this product. instead, through the magic of corporate gaslighting, suddenly at least 60% of their customer base owning this product, out of the blue, decided to use this headset to hammer nails into walls. this experience does not, in the least fill me with confidence to buy anything sony ever again.

Fantastic headphones with great features. But audio is slightly lacking compared to some of its competitors. The Airpod max, the Senheisser and Bose all have the edge over Sony on pure sound quality. Build quality is also just a tad behind, with weak hinges and flaking plastic.

I bought these as an upgrade for my XM4 headphones which were really good. These are definitely a step forward in both noise cancellation and quality of sound. The ear pads are also more comfortable.

I bought these to upgrade from my much used and loved XM3's (which I am keeping as a reserve, as I can't bear to part with them). These came highly recommended in professional hifi reviews (award winning three years running), and justifiably so. Bluetooth wireless connectivity is great; noise cancelling superb; comfort marvellous; connection through the app excellent; musicality awesome. And the midnight blue colour is sublime (knocks spots off black). I am delighted with these headphones. Well worth the investment.

A few days after purchasing, a burning smell started to come from the headphones so I sent them back. Apart from this the sound was good but at this price point the material should be much better than plastic.

These headphones are amazing listening to music is my favourite hobby and the quality of sound that you can achieve with these blows my mind, so many different settings to chose from, you can also map your ear so it produces the best sound quality for you ear shape, they are comfortable to wear for long periods of time, i tested this iut on a 10 hour flight listening to music, watching tv and playing games, definitely worth the price tag

I bought this few weeks ago for work related meetings. The problem that I have with the headsets is that not always connects to my computer and also it turns off noise cancelling from time to time. The design is also quite bulky and big, albeit they feel comfortable.

I paid for the WH-1000XM5 and never received my package. I reached out to Sony Support and they opened a claim, telling me it could take up to a month. After waiting patiently, they came back and said there was nothing more they could do. I never received a refund or a replacement. I’m extremely disappointed—this was supposed to be a premium experience from a brand like Sony, and I feel completely let down. I was really looking forward to trying these headphones, but unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to experience them. I can’t speak to their sound quality, comfort, or features because they never made it into my hands. Extremely disappointing, especially considering my expectations for a premium product.

The product may be marvellous but the initial instructions, the manuals and above all the website are ludicrously and unnecessarily convoluted and difficult to understand, One would think the Sony really didn't want one to use their products at all.
