Maxi-Cosi Mico Pro+ Infant Car Seat - Sea Shadow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. When I received this product, I thought the entire box was already light so I knew carrying the car seat would be easier than my current one. The frame itself and ergonomic design were also light so very little fatigue when holding it with my 9 month old in it, which is the best feature. The strap adjustment was simple (even if I had to make significant adjustments/loosen slack since it defaulted for a newborn upon opening) The slack lever/release was initially hard to find because I am not familiar with the maxi cosi system, but that is not a mark against the product. The removable cushions surrounding the straps and all over were a very nice touch because I was always afraid normal straps would rub or scratch my baby boy and these made him more comfortable. Living in Las Vegas, it is unavoidable for his back to be warm when we take him out of his seat, but the vents on the pico pro+ lessen the heat he retains. The material of the canopy is very nice and soft, but with a sturdy brim, giving it a very modern and slick look. Installing the base is straightforward even though we were not familiar with the system (as FTP, we only installed one). My only gripe is because it is a super new product, I wasn’t sure if it was compatible with our stroller or others I was interested in buying in the future. We did not want to buy attachments simply to see if we can use this with other systems. I initially thought we were going to receive a travel system with both, but again, not a negative on the product - just difficult to review in a short amount of time without further research on other compatible systems it can work with seemlessly without putting a lot of money. Overall, I believe those familiar with maxi cosi systems will like the nice upgrade. And for a first stroller ever, it is a nice option as well that I would recommend to FTP like myself.

As a mom of a 4 month old, I was in the market for an extra carseat and the Maxi Cosi fit the bill for what we were looking for. Upon taking the Maxi Cosi car seat out of the box, I was impressed with how lightweight both the base and seat were. The base contains very easy instructions on installation, which made installing the base very simple and quick to do. I loved how lightweight the base was, as it would be perfect for moving from car to car. The overall feel of the material of the carseat was so soft, and felt more luxe. I loved the handle of the seat as-well, as it added additional comfort for carrying. Unfortunately, the car seat did not fit well in one of our smaller SUV's, but it would work well in most standard cars and SUV's.

My little one always seems so comfortable in it. My favorite feature by far is the extra-long sunshade with breathable sides. Having used different infant car seats with my older children that didn’t have this feature, I can confidently say it’s a total game changer. It’s one of those features you don’t realize you need until you have it, especially on sunny days. When paired with adapters for a stroller or wagon, it makes being out and about so much easier and more enjoyable. Installation was quick and simple, and the seat clicks in and out of the car effortlessly. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and makes traveling from place to place with a baby feel seamless. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impression: sleek but not sure. Pros: LOVE LOVE LOVE the coverage of the canopy. We have Texas heat and sun - this is a must. Lightweight. It’s definitely lighter than other infant seats, and this is a big pro for me. As a Mom always carrying multiple bags, anything helps that is less of a load. It also makes daycare transfers smoother. I was also able to set up both the base and seat without any issue - the product YouTubes were super helpful to double check my work too! Cons: Base is LONG. I have a midsized SUV, and it would be difficult to fit the car seat with two tall-ish front passengers. Good thing I’m average height! That goes to my other point, although the seat is light, the handle is LONG. As a shorter/average person, the seat being lightweight AND petite build would have taken the car seat from 4 to 5 stars. Unsure: fabric… it doesn’t SEEM very easy to clean, but we are just ending our spit up phase and haven’t tested out the cleaning process. The fabric is very soft though! I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I’m glad to have it in our newborn arsenal!

Early on before the infant graduates to a toddler car seat, it’s something you take in and out of the car every day, so quality is king. Design and function prove to either be working for or against you. We recieved this Maxi Cosi Pico Pro+ Infant Car Seat as part of the stellar panel testing program and I couldn’t be happier with the build of this product! It is luxurious looking and feeling. After you have had some time to find your way around it, adjust it and use it for some time, you realize just how high end even the design is! Functionality shines bright almost immediately out of the box. Which brings me to my first point: the ease of use and minimal assembly needed right out of the box is great. There is no fluff here! It is a car seat and a base. Upon removal, I immediately noticed how comfortable the inside portion that surrounds the infant is. The texture of fabric as well as the comfortable feel of the padding, stood out alongside the spandex type of material the hood showcases. After unboxing, my attention got pulled elsewhere, so my wife attempted to install the car seat. This is not necessarily her forte, and if we are being honest with each other, that is putting it lightly. She was able to get the car seat installed properly and in the car within five minutes. As her husband with an understanding of her “Home Improvement” skills, I was shocked with the ability to successfully get this in the seat properly in such a short amount of time. The next part that I found to be a plus was the functionality and ergonomic concept of the seat itself. Taking the seat in and out of the vehicle is a breeze! It is light, white, sturdy, and easy to carry. We are an on-the-go family, so our infant is taken in and out of the car frequently. Prior to receiving this car seat, our infant was in the car seat that we used previously for our toddler. Although that car seat was good, because obviously we are still using it for a second child, there is absolutely no comparison between that car seat and the Maxi Cosi Pico Pro+. This car seat is top-tier! With years of experience product testing and knowledge of current tools for parents/trending popular tools of the trade, I can say with full confidence that this is the best car seat I have ever seen. I look forward to exploring more of the Maxi Cosi line in order to upgrade with our infant into a comparable model for them as a toddler as they grow. I’m a fan and will absolutely be recommending this to future parents! 10/10!!!

It feels sturdy and secure, but without the bulk that a lot of infant car seats tend to have, which made a noticeable difference right away. The installation process was surprisingly straightforward. The Maxi-Cosi Mico Pro infant car seat has been really good for us. It’s light enough that carrying it around doesn’t feel like a workout and baby boy seems comfortable in it. I like that the fabric is soft and easy to wash and the extra canopy coverage is nice when we’re outside. The install was pretty simple too. Overall I do feel like it’s a solid car seat and worth it if you want something that feels a little more premium!!

I love that it has the luxury look of some more expensive brands at a more reasonable price point. The fabric is beautiful and it has the leather wrapped handle that really aids in the appearance. It is impressively easy to install with the latch system, which is a huge perk. I am happy with the safety ratings and seat specifications, and love the breathability coming from the south. I did find it to be heavier than previous seats I’ve tried, but not terrible. Transition in and out of car and onto a stroller is a breeze. I found the plastic portion of the handle to be a bit too bulky and less comfortable when carrying in the crook of your arm. Happy with the seat and would definitely recommend it as an option to friends or family.

The numbers a the colors of each step on the base of the car seat was extremely intuitive to install and one safety feature I appreciate is that when the lift release lever is not fully down, the car seat will not click in place. I also love how well ventilated the car seat is first starting off with the car seat cover as well as the ventilation on the sides of the car seat. what I love most about this car seat are the cushions/pads which put my very sensitive newborn to sleep during car rides and how easy to clean the car seat is. I also loved how easy it is to attach the car seat to my stroller and place back into the car seat base. I received this car seat as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've been using the Maxi Cosi Mico Pro+ for a few weeks now and overall it's a great seat for our little one. My first impression was that it feels well-made and thoughtfully designed without being overly bulky or complicated. I really like the overall look -- it has a clean, modern design that doesn’t scream “baby gear,” which I appreciate. The installation process was pretty straightforward. The base clicked into place securely, and the instructions were clear enough that I didn’t feel like I needed to watch multiple videos to figure it out. Love that the base has a load leg for extra safety! That said, it is a tight squeeze in a smaller back seat (we drive a sedan) and it took some adjusting to feel fully confident everything was positioned correctly. One of my favorite things about this car seat is how lightweight it is. Carrying it in and out of the car with a baby actually feels manageable! The canopy is another big plus as it extends far and provides excellent coverage from the sun. I also appreciate that the fabric is breathable and machine washable for the inevitable messes -- this has kind of become a non-negotiable for us as busy, working parents! The main frustration is the shoulder strap adjustment. Re-threading them to a different height slot is more complicated than it needs to be. Not at all a dealbreaker, but definitely something I wish was simpler. A few of the pros: - I liked the mesh on the canopy which provided great circulation. The canopy also really good sun coverage. - The padding on the seat felt very plush and comfortable. I also liked the additional padding on the buckles. - The instructions on the base to install the car seat were very clear and easy to follow. There were step by step number sticker instructions on the base. The base adjust is nice which made it easy to get the ideal angle for the car seat so no need to roll up any towels. A few cons that I saw: - My husband has a truck which has an extended cab so it was tough to fit the seat in with comfortable room for him to drive. The seat felt longer than another I have had but thinner. - I was not a fan of the handle. You have to use both hands to adjust and there were only a few positions. Its not very accessible as I had a wrist injury and it was difficult for me to adjust.

My first impression was really positive because of the car seat’s sleek, luxurious black aesthetic. That was quickly followed by another positive realization: the car seat is remarkably light to have such nice cushions included for even the littlest babies! The installation process was a breeze using the LATCH anchors. Once the base was set, I felt confident my little one is safe and secure, while I’m able to quickly and conveniently pop the infant seat in and out of the car when I’m on the go. The coolest functional feature is the extendable sun shade. I haven’t owned another infant car seat that gives such a generous amount of structured shade (with mesh side panels for circulation!). I know this is going to come in handy this summer! This is a 5 Star product! Highly recommend!

My youngest, and the passenger of this seat, is just 2 months old. The Maxi-Cosi Mico Pro+ really impressed me. It’s super soft, lightweight, and actually looks nice in our car. I was impressed with how simple installation was. The latch system clicked right in, and switching between cars took only a few minutes. Easy installation is a requirement for our family as our babysitter will occasionally use the car seat to pick up baby/kids from daycare or take them to activities. My baby seems comfy and snug, and I love the breathable fabric and easy harness adjustment. The only area of improvement I could think of is a preference for a bigger canopy. Overall, if you want a safe, stylish, and easy-to-use seat, this one’s worth it.

We live in a city and use rideshares a lot, so being able to use it in taxi mode without the base is a big win for us. It makes getting in and out of Ubers way less stressful. The design is also super sleek and clean, doesn’t feel bulky or clunky. Our 18 lb baby seems really comfortable in it, and the sunshade has great coverage (it extends really far, which I love for walks or quick in-and-outs). It’s also surprisingly lightweight, which makes carrying it up stairs manageable. It’s easy to click in and out of the base, which is a plus. My only real complaint is the latch to loosen the seatbelt is kind of hard to reach and a bit annoying to adjust. I’ve been using a different brand but this car seat has quickly become my favorite. I live in the south and the heat is upon us, although the car seat is a dark color, the sun shade does a great job of keeping the sun out of my babes face. I LOVED how easy it is to install and easier to remove. I’m a stickler for car seat safety and Maxi Cosi did a great job making it easy to be safe. The material is so soft and the seat is so cushioned, this car seat screams luxury without breaking the bank. This car seat is also easy on the hands when removing from the base, I’ve had other handles cause cramps from the way it has to be held, this is not the case for this seat. Prior to using this car seat I purchased another brand simply due to the flame retardant materials they used and they charged a premium, I was so excited to read that Maxi Cosi checked the box with that as well. All in all this car seat checks all the boxes I need when making such an important purchase and I’ll be using it until the little one outgrows it.

We currently own the Maxi Cosi Pria All in One for our toddler so we were definitely excited to try out the infant car seat for our son. The fabric is very soft and breathable with nice leather accents on the handle and seat. The car seat itself is light to carry which is helpful since I am petite. My husband found the base easy to install with the instructions. Our fussy 7 month old seems comfortable inside and has cried considerably less (which is a major plus for us because he will cry for 45 minutes + sometimes!) That is the biggest pro for us, if baby is happy, so are we! I’d say our only con with it, is not having a place for the straps to go while baby is outside of the seat. I have to try to wrangle under my squirmy baby to get the straps from under him, which can be a challenge some days. A clip on the sides or magnets would be a great feature to add.
