A: Thank you for reaching out regarding our Fresh Lavender Scent Liquid Laundry Detergent. Our liquid laundry detergents contain enzymes to help break down tough stains on clothes and are suitable for washing almost any type of fabric, including production wool (Smartwool, Ibex, Icebreaker, etc). We do suggest being cautious when using fine silk or fine/virgin wool, since enzymes can break down the fragile fibers. If you are concerned about the enzymes in the liquid laundry detergent, you can try our Dish Soap to hand-wash your wool garments. The Dish Soap contains many of the same cleaning agents as the laundry detergent but does not contain the enzymes. We hope this helps!

A: Thanks for reaching out! Our Fresh Lavender Liquid Laundry Detergent Soap can be used on items such as luxury bamboo sheets. We recommend that you use less detergent and do not use other laundry additives such as fabric softener or bleaching agents. Detergent residue is not good for the down; so it is a good idea to use an extra rinse cycle. If you chose to use a powder detergent, it is recommended that you dissolve the powder to put it in the dispenser. This will prevent clumps of powder from collecting on the down items.

This detergent does NOT clean at all. It also does not smell good. I have also noticed allergic reaction itching since switching to SG. Unfortunately, we will no longer be purchasing SG detergents or softners.

Good detergent/ Bad bottle design
I have used this detergent for a long time and plan to continue. It works well for me and importantly, is cruelty free. It is lightly fragranced ( non- chemically) and much better for the environment than other detergents. HOWEVER, I am so glad I read reviews a couple years ago or so, when the company designed new packaging. The new pour top (green) on the bottle is terrible! It leaks no matter what you do and they need to go back to the previous design. Others warned us with their reviews, so I was proactive enough to save my last bottle with the old cap. And every single time now I go thru the trouble of transferring the new bottle’s contents into the old bottle. PLEASE GO BACK TO YOUR PREVIOUS PACKAGING, SEVENTH GENERATION!

Used to love it but...
The new biobased formula doesn't clean my husband's clothes nearly as well as the previous formula did. I have to use twice as much detergent which negates the efficiency of the product. It's not smooth, it's chunky when it pours which seems odd, but at least there's nothing left in my machine's dispenser. I also have to make sure I pre-treat any stains. It used to be okay if I missed one and remembered after I started the load. The detergent worked well enough that it got most stains out anyway. Not now. The quality has decreased in this new formula. And the lid on the bottle! OY! Don't get me started! This bottle is so badly designed, the mess is everywhere. You're either forced to rinse the cap with every use or toss it in the washer every time, neither of which works for my situation. I can't tell you how glad I am that I kept the old 128 load shelf bottle to transfer to. Between the lesser cleaning ability and the bad bottle design, I'm seriously considering just going back to Tide. An item I chose to move away from to begin with. I might recommend this with caveats.

Worst design I've ever seen
The detergent itself is great, however, I cannot explain how terrible the cap on this product is. It makes a horrible mess and you cannot see the measurements inside the cap. It’s so bad I actually transfer the Seventh Generation detergent into an empty Tide bottle.
