Software update broke what was a great robot
This vacuum worked great for 2 months but then in Sept 2025 Shark pushed out a software update that broke connectivity with Google Home, Home Assistant, Amazon Alexa, etc. The only way to schedule individual rooms is through one of these assistants and now it has been broken for a month (so far). We mainly used voice commands to operate the robot, and now we haven't been able to do that for a month (so far). I have never had a physical appliance broken by a software update from a company before. It is ridiculous that it's taking so long to fix the problem, and wild that they did not simply roll back the software to the version that worked properly. I can't imagine buying Shark again after this debacle.

Bad app and poor performance for the price.
Don't waste your money on this vacuum. The app that goes along with it is absolutely crap and the vacuum itself doesn't clean as well as it should for the money it costs. It loses connection quite often, the battery life isn't great and it misses a lot of debris. Will most likely replace it with a better option soon.

'Bot is good, app not so good.
So far the RoboVac {rv2820) has worked well. It hasn't gotten stuck anywhere yet and has done a decent job of keeping the floors clean. Only complaints so far are: It takes a long time (3 hours) to recharge the battery. The app needs some serious work. You can schedule a whole house cleaning but you can't schedule specific rooms or areas. You can't cancel anything in progress while the 'bot is charging. You have to wait until it's done charging and it leaves the station to do anything in the app. There can only be 1 map. You can't have a map for upstairs and one for downstairs.

Breaks easily
My daughters bought this for me about a year 1/2 ago. It stopped working because it ran through dog poop. It was a very small amount that got on it. I cleaned it well and it continues to have error 7 it thinks it’s going off a Cliff. The sensors are not working. They are clean. If you have any pets, kids or any chance there could be something unexpected on the floor I would not waste your money. My dog is a chihuahua it truly was a small amount.

Spend the extra for the Roomba
I have now had both the Shark and the Roomba, I had my Roomba for 5-years and ran it almost everyday it was great until it just wore its little self out. I decided to go with Shark when I repurchased because it was less and it said that it was Pet Hair friendly and overall the reviews were good. I have had nothing but problems with it. I have replaced the roller twice finally called support they sent me a new machine (their support staff was great!) And this morning I was watching it...I don't think it picked up a single human or dog hair...I wasn't sure why I even had it going. I'm going right now to purchase the Roomba...I give up!

Good buy.
It’s great! The mapping is so accurate, the strength selection mode is awesome. Only problem is along the sides of the walls don’t get cleaned so well. I’d have to sweep it away from the walls first.

Not worth it
Battery life is terrible and it takes hours to charge. I wanted to love this I sweep my house daily but wanted something I can run at night but it has yet to do the full house. I personally don’t think it’s worth it. I will be returning. Currently looking for something else

Goes over fireplace lip and doesn't get caught.
I am so amazed with the amount of animal hair it picks up. I'm sure it's in shock that it has to everyday. I have 2 dogs, and 3 cats. All short-hair breeds. They still shed a lot. I have it programed to run every morning at 6:00 am. It faithfully allows me to wake up to a hairless house for 30 minutes. I had to do nothing. Then the hair battle starts all over, but my Robo is waiting to save me.

Not as good as expected
Doesn’t pick up dog hair. Regularly miss spots. I feel like this wasn’t worth the money. First pic is after a matrix clean. Second pic is it saying not completed matrix clean of living room

Works great

Bought this after being so disappointed with other 1 I had bought but I have a shark vacuum cleaner that I have used for several years and still works great. This robot vacuum is so way more than I expected goes over plugged in cords ,small inclines under most furniture, and can be emptied very easy .Love Love this robot

Love love love, would of been 5 stars, but only issue is how loud this vacuum is. This one is super loud compared to my old shark iq robot vacuum.
