Because of this, a 49-liter (13-gallon) bag may be too large for each compartment. Decided to spend a little more on this trashcan due to space limitations yet need for larger can. Opted for plastic lid to save some and I like it better as the lid can sometimes hit counter when I apply too much pressure to the pedal. Although I can’t open lid completely when under my counter, there is plenty of room to toss items and I didn’t sacrifice size of can. CustomInk bags fit nicely

I love having one can for trash and recycling, I can get rid of the large bag hanging on the door I used for recycling. I have purchased before and love all the simple human products. Our new SH recycle/trash receptacle has a clean modern look. No problems. We are using the appropriate can liner and it is tight in the can and unseen. Really love the recycle removable sleeve and it makes for quick transfer of recycled items.

It’s pretty but nothing special about it. I was replacing my previous SimpleHuman trashcan that was destroyed in the LA Fires AND SimpleHuman wouldn’t even help by letting me use a discount code! OBVIOUSLY doesn’t value its customers that has been purchasing from them over the years. Will NEVER spend my money with SimpleHuman again!

Very sleek. 10/10 would recommend. The Code H liner also works for the recycling bucket. I appreciate how it immediately made my floor plan appear more spacious after I got rid of two smaller, separate bins for recycling and trash. I also love how the trash bags are hidden in a component behind the receptacle itself, making replacing the bags easier.

This is my second trash can of this model. Great product, great quality. I went with the "gold" color. It is definitely not as pictured. The pictures show a rich, deep golden color but in reality it's a pale "gold" with a strong green tint to it, even in natural light. I'm keeping it but that's why 4 stars rather than 5.

This is my 2nd recycle/ trash combo , my first lasted many many years ,very classy looking in kitchen I have high traffic kitchen pets included this trash can is also great with containing odors ! Step is amazingly durable . Love the trash / recycling combo so convenient and easy to empty , Easy to wipe clean , Worth every penny I’m 55 and for my big busy family this is the best trash can I’ve ever owned both my purchases were the stainless silver :) enjoy yours your gonna love it !

Who would think that a trash can would deliver the wow factor but, the 58L Step Recycler has. We needed to replace an old cylinder trash can, did some research, found Simplehuman brand, read reviews and ordered it. No regrets! It fits beautifully in the kitchen, full length step-bar to easily open the lid or, when changing the bag(s) or lifting out the recycle bucket, the entire collar/lid lifts up manually and stays in the upward position. It’s also a nice feature during cooking when one needs the lid open. The can came with complimentary trash bags but, I’ll likely use them to line the recycle bucket and continue to use Costco/Kirkland bags as they fit very well but require a little tucking if you want to hide the bag behind the collar. I love soft close lid! No more lid slamming! Plus, minimal foot pressure to lift the lid. This trash can is like an appliance. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth the splurge? Absolutely! The build quality and functionality are apparent. As for longevity, we’ll see how it holds up but, after a week, we love it! What a nice can!
