A: The ice melts after a while and remakes itself so as long as you leave the ice part on it will keep remaking ice when it gets low

Q: When operating the ice maker is it necessary to add water to the front water tank as well as the secondary water tank? Or is the secondary water tank in the back not intended for water to be added. The instructions are not clear.

The first few days it worked great..,after a few days a grinding noise started happening after about a week and a half it was so loud it woke is up straight out of bed!!! The grinding noise was really loud seemed like it might explode!!! I do not recommend this particular item!!!

When it initially starts making the ice it is more like shaved ice. It takes at least 30-45 minutes for the nuggets to start. Once the nuggets are there they are pretty much perfect which brings this to 2 stars. If the bin fills up the moment you take some of the ice out you will start to get shaved ice again. If I wanted shaved ice I'd get the crushed ice from my fridge. All of the instructions are written in poor broken English. I will be returning, this was not worth the near $200 I paid.

We replaced our GE Opal with this unit because we didn't want to spend the money for an Opal again only to have to replace it in a couple of years. This unit was less expensive and has a smaller footprint so it takes up less space. This is how much ice we had when we got up this morning. So far it seems to be working well.

Nuggets are the absolute perfect size, just like Sonic. Not noisy at all, just a low hum. Only downside is it’s slower than reviews I’ve read. Using pre-refrigerated water, I got first few ice pieces at 8 minutes, but I didn’t get enough for a glass for about 15+ minutes. Pre-planning is a must if using for more than a couple people. Just store ice in freezer in advance. Still deciding if I’m keeping.

Makes the incredible sonic type ice. So easy to use, and I love the fact you don’t have to keep dumping the ice. What has melted, gets filtered back to make new ice. It’s always ready to use and fits right under our cabinets on our kitchen counter. Not too big and not too small. We’ve only had it a week, but loving it so far.

Very quiet while making ice and zero noise once ice basket is full. Located near window direct sunlight and still nothing melted. The ice pellets are exactly like sonic, soft.
