The Doux Bananas Xtreme Hold Hair Gel - 12 fl oz

I really like this gel but the packaging is terrible. It’s so difficult to get the product out. Please change the packaging!

It's almost like no one tested the product before manufacturing! The bottle is so hard to squeeze. Not ideal for someone who is always on the go. Please change it.

The product is lovely. Smells nice. Holds nice. The bottle is a HUGE problem. Theres no way I'm going to be able to get all the product out. Ive stored it upside down since I received it and it still is almost impossible to get out. I was in my bathroom banging the bottle on my sink and digging in to bottle with a plastic knife. Please dont release anymore until you change the bottle to a jar. This is from someone who LOVES The Doux. ❤️

In my top 3 stylers, only removing one star because I think it would be great if it was a bit runnier so that it could come out of the bottle more easily

This is a five star product in a two star bottle! It smells terrific and has great strong hold, doesn’t get flaky and unlike Bonita and Honey Dip, it’s not sticky at all. But it’s *impossible* to squeeze out of its bottle. I have to store it upside-down and take the cap off completely and thwack it onto my palm to create enough suction for it to blob out lol. This product deserves better packaging.

I typically style on dripping wet hair so Bananas doesn't dry hard on me even when I'm using two gels. It's a nice gel and holds my curls. But it's agonizing to get out of the bottle. It needs to either be in a squeeze tube or a squeeze bottle. A rigid bottle with a square top makes it impossible to get the gel out of it, unless you have exceptional hand strength.

Unfortunately for me, it gave me contact dermatitis, so I'll have to take this back. I think the definition was pretty good, hold was good. The hold lasted several days. I think the definition of Bee Girl might have been better. The hold seems the same to me. I'll go back to Bee Girl, since that worked well for me and didn't give me a scalp reaction. I use it on top of Gorilla Snot Gel to get extra definition.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do something with this packaging!!! A pump, even a jar. The gel is perfect.

I didn't like the texture consistency and the non-easy access of the product.

I wanted to like it. I really did but I have been cutting out fairy knots since the 4th day after applying it to my hair. I will not buy it again. I do however like the Mousse from this line but not a fan of this gel.

I saw a curly hair influencer use this and was amazed at how defined her curls appeared as she raked it through. Also, seeing how strong the hold lasted for her made me give this a try and it was so worth it. My second time using it and I think I'm in love. My tight curls could never be captured on my front camera and now they can. I'm in awe that one product is able to provide me with great results as opposed to three. The scent is great and does not smell like bananas. The doux really did their big one!

I finally found a gel that works for my daughters’ curly hair! Doesn’t create any build up and helps their hair last through the school day.

What is there not to love?!? I haphazardly came across this gel because I had to restock my Da Doux gel. I was skeptical at first given the price tag. But let me tell you!! The definition and hold it gave was impressive! Don’t let the consistency fool you, it will ‘Doux’ what it said it will do! It gave great hold and the cast softened perfectly. Mind you, the curls held up in the GA heat so you know it was put to the test. Please follow the directions. It really works on soaking wet hair, so please do not skip this step or you’ll end up with less than desirable results. I will agree with the other reviews that the bottle is not the greatest when using the product.

Purchased in February, tried it a couple of times, liked it, but it is a very tight hold, so I didn’t use often. Then the Midwestern heat advisory months started and I tried it again. 5+ days in humidity that makes it feel 100+ degrees and my hair still has curl definition. I exercise and spent 5 hours outside at a park on day 3 and the curls still kept going! Good shine and expands over time. Wish it were in a tub for easy access but otherwise worth every penny!!

This product gave great slip and definition. I am not a fan of the smell but the product delivered for what I needed and what it states it does

I love the hold of this gel, for all my family, including my boys, who move around so much.

Leave alot of white stuff in hair and doesn't hold

An affordable way to do a wash and go! You don’t need 2 or 3 products, this does it all

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used this gel for a couple styles. One was a slick back pony, and the other to style my curls into a curly fro. Each style held well. When wearing the curls out, I found that I didn’t have to rewet my hair for several days! I love this product!
