The gel is moisturizing, but I wanted MORE definition. This product fell short of giving me that curl definition. My hair was fine the first night of use while wet, and after 24 hours, it became frizzy. I don’t think my hair can last even 3 days on this gel. I am so disappointed, I wanted this to work so bad. If you have 4b/c medium to low porosity hair, this gel may not give you the firm hold you are looking for.

Made my hair too sticky
I haven't used this product in a while but when I did, it flaked on me bad and made my hair extremely sticky. Wanted to love this product bc I stand by the doux. This brands mousse is the bomb.com but this gel just didn't do it for me. I didn't like how sticky my hair felt when dry or how many product flakes I had. I've seen so many other great reviews for this but it just didn't work for out for me. Maybe I used it wrong. I might give this product another go in the future just bc of how may great reviews on this that I've seen on YouTube.

I love the Doux Big Poppa gel for my curls. It gives my TWA a defined look when I'm done with the sponge 🧽. However I can't rate a five due to the build up it leaves behind. I always wash and clean my hair before use and be sure not to add anything else. I double checked that this was indeed a fact before making statement. But like I said I keep using because the way my curls turn out. I just have to wash my hair twice weekly instead of once. I don't mind right now because my hair is short. (Less than 3 inches)

I was really looking forward to trying The Doux hair products, but unfortunately, they did not work out for me. After using them for a short period of time, I experienced significant scalp irritation. My scalp became itchy and uncomfortable, which was quite disappointing. Due to this reaction, I had to return all of The Doux products that I purchased. It's a shame because I had high hopes for them, but they just weren't suitable for my scalp

Great product!
I’m so glad I found this gel. I have tried everything on my son’s hair, and nothing has defined his curls like this product. The curls stay defined for days, and it leaves the hair soft and shiny. A little goes a long way. I recently started using it on my own hair and love it. I use a little water to refresh my curls, which reactivates them. It works on different hair textures.
