The Doux Big Poppa Define Gel - 16 oz

I like that it leaves my hair silky. It gives a definite curl pattern. It cuts down off the frizz.

THE CURLS ARE CURLING but I did notice some flakes in the roots but it might be because I used the moose too but I love this product so much

One of my favorite gels! Doesn't flake or cause build up. It comes in a huge jar and lasts a long time.

Most gels flake or itch or gives a hard crunchy feel OR all of the above. Not this one though. It smells amazing, defines the curl as advertised and gives an amazing shine.

If you have 4C kinky hair, this gel works! I use to use Wetline gel and swore by it, but something changed with it and I don't get the same result....but with this gel....babyyyy, my coils were popping and I didn't have to use alot! It looks shiny and feels moisturized. This is day one so hopefully I can get a week or more from this style.

I absolutely love it! My hair ranges from 3b to a 4a curl pattern. When I say it defines, gathers, and moisturizes all of my ancestors hair (see pictures) cohesively! It does not disappoint! Not only dose it define my curls, it moisturizes at the same time. The first few times I used it I rewet daily (out it habit) , but I really did not need to do so. Now, I pull of my bonnet, use my hand to pull out the flat parts (I slept on) shake and GO! After I “beat my face” ( put on my makeup) of course! When I tell you I have finally found “MY PRODUCT”. I GOT IT! Don’t let hair type or texture dissuade you; try it for yourself. Follow the directions on the package don’t try and “do it your way” follow the instructions 1st. If it doesn’t work that way THEN try “your way”, but it will work just as intended. Give it a chance. I am currently on day 8 and still curly and moisturized. Enjoy! Let me know what you think! 🤣🤣

It’s a lightweight gel, has light gold but not like eco styler or wet line, but it’s not super light. Like there’s a light crunch. I will say for a gel my hair felt moisturized after. I used this in combination to the foam from this doux line, and it pairs very well, I rather the combination together. No flaking either

Big Poppa is simply the best. I have 4c low porosity hair and this product keeps my curls moisturized and full of body. I will never use another gel again. I have received so many compliments since using Big Poppa. I am in love with what this product has done for my hair. And it smells delightful!

I have tried countless gels and this is the only one my hair loves!! This gel keeps the frizz away and keeps curls looking beautiful! My curls are a mixture of 4a,b&c

The positives is that the gel felt like my preferred gels. It gave me wonderful definition. Keep in mind that I used it with the foam. My hair had amazing curls while wet and for the first day. The other days it became very dry. I tried it twice because I had hopes this would be my cheap version. It was not for me...

I have fine, low density, 4c hair shaped in a TWA. I usually wear wash and go with kinky curly custard (hold lasts 3-4 days). This product gave me a soft hold, lasted 1 day. The next day my hair felt hard and looked frizzy. I am a proponent of trying the product multiple ways until you see how it works best for you. So for my wash n go's, I've tried using it alone, w/ Mousse Def Foam as a topper, or w/ leave in conditioner as a base. Nothing kept the hold longer than the 1 day, the leave in conditioner did keep it soft on day 2-3. I havent tried this for my twists or twist out.

This gel did not work for me. It left my hair feeling really dry and super frizzy with pretty much no curl definition. The consistency is very thick so I thought it would have great hold but it’s oddly lightweight with no cast and my curls need a strong hold. I gave the two stars for the scent which I do like.

This gel works wonders in my kids hair! I have tried lots of products and nothing has compared to this one.

It is a great product. The first time that I tried this product I didn't use it correctly. My hair was hard and flakey. The second time I used this product my hair came out better. My hair was moisturized. I would recommend this product to anyone.

An okay gel but far from a favorite. Defines my curls nicely but it’s hard to get any volume because my hair is so greasy and weighed down. My hair has absolutely no crunch or hold to it, like you’d get from an Eco styler or Extreme Wetline Gel. This reminds me of the Kinky Curly gel or the Mielle Honey Soufflé gel. If those gels work for you, you’ll love this plus this offers a lot of product for a good price. I may try layering a strong hold gel on top of this.

This gel made my hair and scalp dry.

Won't buy again due to toxic ingredients

Doux hair products are the business!! Recently tried this gel for the first time and it did not disappoint!! Great definition and moisture. Curls held beautifully the next day. Had issues with other hair products holding my curls.

I love the smell. It is so moisturizing and my curls are defined. I really love this gel. Its one of my favorite.
