      Product seems to have changed

      I’ve been using a thermacell on my patio for several years. The mats use to last 4 hours as advertised. I would go through butane cartridges quicker than I had to replace the mats, now it’s the other way around. The mats are turning white after only an hour to an hour and a half. I’m not sure what has changed with this product but it’s getting super expensive having to constantly purchase more replacement mats. So disappointed because the product works great it’s just not lasting the 4 hours as advertised anymore.

      Hi, The MATS have two chemicals on them. the first chemical is the repellent. The second chemical is a timed released blue dye. The blue dye, can fade in some cases in a short period of time, but the repellent remains on the MAT for the full 3-4 hours. Our testing shows that after 4 hours, 25% is still on the mat. You can leave the Mats in even if they turn white a bit sooner than you expected. The environment can cause this to happen as well: heat, humidity, wind. and altitude. We recommend just leaving them in for the full 3-4 hours even if they seem to be turning white. if you have any other questions, please feel free

      What happened to 4 hours per Pad?

      We have used this product for a few years now, my husband was telling who knows how many people this is the only product that truly works. However, there has been a change this year. The pads Do Not last 4 hours, not even 3 hours anymore, if you’re lucky, you’ll get 2 hours. We even purchased a new lantern thinking it might be the heating element. Didn’t change the longevity of the pad. Unhappy….

      Great way to enjoy the summer evenings

      They work great to keep the mosquitos away and you can visibly see when the pads need to be replaced. I also have the usb thermacell that uses the liquid inserts for my patio, it works great as well.

      Effective for mosquitos and other flying insects. Lasts for perhaps 12 hours in my experience. Color change to show reduced effectiveness helpful. Excellent for our back yard usage. .
