The bookshelf is fine. The shipping for the bookshelves has been horrible. Had to order 3 times to get the correct color shipped. Still waiting on my second one.

I’ve ordered this item and it was delivered in the wrong color, then reordered it again and then the replacement came in the wrong color again

Easy to put together and well made!

Many of the parts are not cut to line up well when assembling and the screws don’t stay securely in when tightened.

I love the look of this bookcase. I've been looking for one that was solid for actual books and that could also fit into my mid century modern office. It holds so many books and seems well made. Very happy with this purchase.

This bookcase was delivered damaged. As we started taking pieces out we realized how damaged it was. There's dents all over the wood and if we put it together it would look terrible.

Love this bookcase. I have 4 of them now. My only problem is that the last one came with side of it knicked in multiple spots. Almost like small chunks missing from it. And what makes it worse is that it's on the front of it, so I can't even face it towards the back. Disappointed in that, I really love these book cases and had to wait for the espresso color to come back in stock to get it.

Great item! It was easy to assemble and just a little darker in person. I love it!

Fedex delivered it today, and the shipping carton looked like it had a pretty rough trip from New Jersey, where it originated. Surprisingly, there was no appreciable damage inside. HOWEVER, we are missing a part, namely Part #R, the "fixed center front rail.” We called Target "Guest Service" and asked for the missing part, but it sounded like it'll take time to get it, if we end up getting it at all. So if we assemble this item, we'll have to remove one entire side when the missing part arrives, so it can be installed. Bottom line, we'd be pretty happy with it if we had all the parts. As it is, we're disappointed, but still hopeful we won't have to return it for lack of the missing component.

Arrived severely damaged.

For almost $200 I expected this to be more solidly built than the $50 IKEA bookshelf. The tolerance of the cam holes and how loosely it grabs onto the hardware causes the cam to rotate to the open position multiple times while assembling the unit. I trusted their integrity so little that I super glued each cam in place. The backer board has pre drilled holes thankfully, but only the top board has pre drilled holes in the frame for alignment. The material on the sides is flimsy and once again had very loose tolerance. It easily flexes with the slightest touch. Would I recommend this shelf? Look elsewhere. Threshold is supposed to be higher quality, but it seems like only higher priced.

Got this delivered and 1/2 way putting it together, saw this side panel was broke. No replacement no refund.

We received one, and it came broken. It was a hassle to return it, and then he returned it and got a replacement, and it came with the exact same problem.

Sent the wrong item, I’m fighting for my life to get my money back.

I had been comparing this bookcase to the IKEA hemnes bookcase and ultimately went with this one when it went on sale during circle week. I think the quality could have been better, but it doesn’t look cheap. It seems sturdy and the color was exactly what I was looking for. There were maybe 5 predrilled holes for the back panels though out of like 40 that you “need” to screw in. Just a heads up! However, if I had purchased at full price I would not be happy. I don’t think it’s worth $200 personally

Package was delivered completely cracked in various places. It was also so poorly made when assembling screws the “ wood “ It would crack. I definitely don’t recommend. Dont waste your money unless It was store pick up already assembled.

The assembly instructions are super clear and easy to follow. There was one defective back panel screw and one back panel screw went through the board, damaging the surface finish. I like that each shelf has a 65-pound capacity. It's a good product for the price.

I bought one of these bookshelves in January and absolutely loved it, so I wanted a second one. Bought the exact same one or so I thought. They have raised the price $20 since I first bought this bookshelf and the material it’s made of is so much cheaper and is so easily chipped and broken. I ordered one and the sides came completely damaged, so I had to exchange it and order another one. I put it together and came back the next day to start putting books on it, and the side had split over night. I would return it if I didn’t already throw out the box and could take it apart. I was so confused as to why I didn’t have this problem in January and realized that the materials between the 2 bookshelves are completely different. This bookshelf is no longer worth the money or the time to put it together until they start making it with the old material. Don’t waste your money and find something that is a better quality. I feel like I got scammed with this product this time.

I own five of these and used to be impressed with the quality, but the product has taken a major downturn over the last couple of years. What used to feel sturdy and reliable is now mostly compressed wood with a flimsy, wood-look sticker that peels or bubbles easily. The most recent unit arrived with visible damage, and one of the panels even cracked while I was gently screwing it in—something I’ve never experienced before, and I’ve assembled plenty of these in the past. At this point, it’s definitely not worth the price. I had plans to purchase a couple more for my office, but I’ll be saving my money instead. Buyers beware: the quality is not what it used to be.

Time consuming but easy to put together until step 8. The back panel only has 4 pilot holes for the top piece. The bottom panel piece has no pilot holes. You have to put in a total of 41 screws with no pilot holes into a finished piece of “wood” for the back. The front trim piece had a similar issue. Otherwise, it’s your standard piece of junk, out of the box bookshelf, that makes you regret purchasing it and has you contemplating all of your life choices while putting it together. Accepting that it’s likely going to be cracked in some places and possibly put together backwards 5 times before you get it right is encouraged before purchase. Recommend drinking water and meditation before and after install.
