Q: Your Tide Free and Clear HE says it is now 84 fl. oz. and it does 64 loads. I used to purchase 92 fl. oz. and it also said 64 poads. Is the product now somehow stronger?

  • A: While the volume of the Tide Free and Clear HE detergent has been reduced from 92 fl. oz. to 84 fl. oz., the formula has been updated to maintain the same cleaning power per load. This means the detergent is more concentrated, so you’ll need less liquid per load to achieve the same level of cleaning as before. Essentially, the product is stronger and more efficient, allowing you to still get 64 loads from the smaller volume

  • A: Tide's answer about the number of loads for the 84 oz. container is completely misleading. See details. Line 5 of measuring cup for full load = 4 oz. That's 21 loads/ 84 oz. container.

  • A: With all of our liquid detergents, there was a change to the formula to make it more concentrated. This means that while there are fewer liquid oz in the package, you will still get the same number of cleaning loads.

Q: Is the 156 fluid ounces HE also? it is not on the top of the container did they just forget to put it there. I would like to know if it is also High Efficiency the 156 fluid ounce?

  • A: I called my local store and asked them to verify whether the 154 oz version (DPCI: 003-08-0159) is in fact High Efficiency (HE). They verified that it is HE. The person I spoke with said the HE logo is on the bottle — admittedly, I haven't yet purchased so I'm verifying this second hand.

It definitely did the job, but I tried it on a stain and even used a stain remover and the shirt still had stains after washing.

We understand scent is very subjective, and we appreciate your feedback and positive comments on it, but this is definitely not the type of experience we want you to go through. All our laundry detergents are formulated to provide effective overall cleaning by penetrating fabrics, loosening dirt, and suspending it in water to prevent redepositing. For best results, powders are ideal for clay, soil, and outdoor stains, liquids work best for greasy or oily dirt, and single-dose units are effective for both. To optimize cleaning, follow garment care labels using the hottest safe water, sort clothes by color and fabric, pre-treat stains by applying detergent directly and rubbing in (after a colorfast test), avoid overloading the washer, use the recommended detergent amount adjusted for soil level and water hardness, and only use gentle cycles when specified. For tough, dried-in stains, removal is more difficult because they are dehydrated, less soluble, may be ironed or exposed to air, and can be set deeper in cotton fabrics; using longer cycles, higher temperatures, keeping stains wet, and reducing the soil load can help, but some old or set-in stains may be impossible to remove despite best efforts. I know tide is known for it's excellent cleaning of clothing but so like to stay away from additives and perfumes so very happy to get to try this free and clear tide. works well. a little hoes a long way in my front loader. did notice one item had what appears to be a bleach spot on it but other than that it works great. great size bottle, was easy to pour. and has a measuring cup for easy choice of amounts

    My new go-to detergent
