A: No. Chlorine bleach should not be used with any Tide powder detergents. It will deactivate the bleach ingredient in these detergents.

Visible Stain Remains on White Tee
Tide Ultra Oxy White significantly reduced the hazelnut gelato stain from my white Lululemon T-shirt, but the stain is still visible. I did not pre treat, and I washed it in hot water. So I washed it again, this time pre-treating overnight (12 hour soak) with Oxy Clean White Revive and Tide Ultra Oxy White detergent. It made a slight difference. I also washed it in cold water. I am now on my second pre treat and third wash. I am using hot water this time, and if the stain does not completely go, I will use bleach.

Amazing Detergent!
I really love the product. It cleans well, and the smell is really subtle and fresh. You have to be aware that you do have to wash your clothes warmer, especially when you use powdered detergent.

Good stain removal, poor odor removal
Pros: Recyclable box, less residue buildup in the dispenser of my front-loader, good stain removal, mild scent Cons: It doesn't do as good a job as liquid Tide at removing odors from athletic clothing. Not sure if it's just that the liquid has a more powerful scent and is covering it up (ew) or if it actually does a better job of cleaning, but we noticed that after switching to this powdered detergent our most-used synthetic athletic wear smells dirty when we pull it clean out of the drawer. True for multiple people in the family. We may switch back to liquid for this reason, or at least alternate.

Does not dissolve!!
I have had to rewash my clothing twice to get sediments off!! Horrible, will never buy powder again. Originally washed in warm water, had powder left in bottom of washer also.

Doesn't consistently dissolve
Even with warm water, it doesn't consistently dissolve, even in warm or hot water, in all size loads. It leaves blue and white marks on clothes. This happens in two types of washer we have in the house -- one is a top loader and one is front loader. We use less than the recommended powder too. I ended up throwing the rest of the box out in the trash. I don't want to use liquid or pods. I'm try to be more environmentally friendly. I've had Pods not dissolve either (even in long hot settings but that's for another review).

Some common issues that may cause powdered detergent residue being left behind are incorrect dosing or dispensing issues, liquid fabric softener being added to the wash cycle instead of the rinse cycle, or not enough water circulating during the wash cycle. Especially with powdered detergent, be sure to check for any blockages if using a dispenser, be sure not to overload the washer, and to check your water pressure. Favorite detergent
I grew up using “natural” laundry detergents, but have recently done a ton of research about laundry (we use cloth diapers), and learned many natural detergents don’t have enzymes (or less effective ones). We did some experiments of our own but mostly relied on wirecutter and cloth diaper cleaning experts to discover this is a really effective detergent! Tide has it figured out. We prefer powder detergents because of cardboard packaging and heavily soiled laundry. This is the best!!

The Smell!!
I bought this product based on a podcast laundry recommendation. They said it was mildly fragrant. To me the fragrance is overpowering. My downstairs bathroom, where the laundry is , now smells like this product and I am not a fan. It may work great, but why on earth wouldn't Tide make an unscented version? Going to wrap this up in plastic and store in the basement and see if someone else can use it. Really was a waste of my money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tide works better than any other laundry detergent, no doubt. I use it for cloth diapers as well and it works great. The only downside is the scent is extremely strong when you open the box, and some of the ingredients are known to cause lung, skin and eye irritation. I dont know why those have to be there. Seems unnecessary. If they could make a Tide powder free and clear version, I would buy it!
