Q: Do these filters fit Pur products?

A: They sure do fit a Pur 7 pitcher I've been buying this filters for 2 years and the water taste good I have no idea why they say the filters doesn't fit a Pur 7 pitcher it fits my pitcher.

A: Hi Sogoodsogood2004, Our filters do not remove lead but whey do reduce Ion exchange resin captures copper, benzene, cadmium, and zinc. Activated carbon reduces chlorine [taste and odor], limescale and mercury.

Q: Only brand expert answer please: The packaging of these says they contain silver and that some silver may be released into the water. Is this nano silver yes or no? Very important distinction.

A: This is not nano silver. Our household water filters have been specially treated with silver to preserve hygienic quality. A small amount of silver may be released into the filtered water, on average less than 0.03 mg/liter. This is in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) for drinking water quality. Leaks charcoal into the water.

The activated charcoal in the filter reduces the odor and taste of chlorine from the water. During transit it can dislodge from the filter and get through the small filter holes. However, it’s perfectly safe for human consumption as it's made from coconut shells.

I don't know why they say this filters don't fit a Pur 7 pitcher when they do I've been buying this filters for my pur 7 pitcher for 2 years they fit and the water taste good delicious I recommend them if you have a Pur 7 pitcher I don't know about the rest of they fit.

Does NOT fit regular sized brita, it will leak through the side and doesn’t fit all the way. Waste of time if it doesn’t fit and isn’t actually filtering the water

Mold/Algae on first filter used, made me sick

Please stay away from these filters. Upon the first Up&Up filter I used in my Britta pitcher, after 5 or 6 weeks, I found mold or algae growing both on the inner side of my pitcher, as well as the bottom of the filter itself. The filters are advertised to be good for 2 months, and I wash the inside of my pitchers every time I change the filter, so it really seems like the Up&Up filter is the issue. I had been having digestive issues for the 2 weeks prior to this, but after discarding my old pitcher and these filters, and returning to Britta products, I felt great in again after 30 to 40 hours. Please protect your health and your water, and stay far away from these generic filters.

Hello andyveggies, we responded to you via email as well but in case another guest has a similar issue here are some tips to avoid algae growth in your pitcher: - Algae can grow in a pitcher of water, even if it's in the fridge. Algae can grow in cold water, and even in low light and nutrient levels. - Avoid sunlight: Keep your pitcher out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. - Wash regularly: Wash the pitcher with soap and warm water on a regular basis. - Don't let water sit: Don't let the same filtered water sit in your pitcher for more than a few days. - Cover the filter: Put something over the top of the water filter to keep sunlight out. How to clean algae from a water pitcher: - Disassemble and wash - Take apart the water filter and wash the housing and cartridges with dishwashing detergent and water. - Mix white vinegar and water, wet a sponge or cloth in the solution, and scrub the inside of the pitcher.

I was skeptical of these at first because I thought I maybe had to have the Target brand (Up & Up) Brita pitcher which I don’t but these are a few dollars cheaper so I thought why not take a risk. And these work just fine!!!!! I’m so happy lol
