Q: Does this rug have a smell? One of the reviews said it had an awful chemical smell but it is Oeko-Tex certified. I am very sensitive to smells so don't want to order if that is the case.

  • A: Hello If your rug has a smell you can follow the below steps to help dissipate it. Sprinkle Baking Soda: Generously sprinkle baking soda over the entire surface of the carpet. Make sure to spread it out evenly to create a thin coat. Let It Sit: Allow the baking soda to sit for several hours, or even overnight if possible. This will give it time to absorb any odors trapped in the fibers of the rug. Keep the Area Clear: During this time, it's important to keep pets and children away from the treated area to ensure safety and effectiveness. Vacuum: After the baking soda has had time to work, vacuum it up thoroughly. Be sure to monitor your vacuum cleaner bag or canister, as baking soda can fill it quickly. Thank you

    Folded and full of creases

    I loved the colors in the rug. The issue is, it came folded. It just shocks me that they would fold a rug instead of rolling a rug up. The wrinkles are unbearable. The only way I could get the wrinkles out was laying a damp towel on the creases and taking my iron and ironing all of the creases out. If you don't want to do that, I would not recommend ordering this rug. I feel target needs to do better when it comes to this. I ordered three rugs and all three were folded.

    Hi, Please be advised that this rug is oversized and could only be delivered to your home via FedEx or UPS which cannot carry anything rolled over 8'. This is why it was delivered folded to you- as delivery would be much more costly to deliver it rolled on a freight truck to your home.Please see below for general instructions on how to flatten your rugs:How to lay out your rug: Place the rolled-up rug on the floor and lay flat. For rugs that don’t include a non-slip back, we recommend adding a rug pad first. Vacuum the rug surface without a beater bar (spinning brush head) to remove shed fivers and flatten the rug further. Flatten curled corners either by reverse rolling or placing a heavy stack of books to weigh them down. To remove creases, place a damp cloth over the creased area and gently iron over it to help relax the wrinkles. We highly suggest getting a rug pad for your rug. This will help tremendously in avoiding curls, creases or warps as well as following the instructions above.

    Some people complained about the smell of the rug I opened the box and let it sit for three days before I pulled it out. I was also worried about the brown design on the rug, but the color is absolutely stunning and it all plants in. It is a little wrinkled, but that’s how old my rugs have been when I first get them. I’m sure it will flatten out in the next couple of days. I highly recommend this rug.pictures doesn’t show exact color it has a mix of blue and gray but blends perfect and changes color with different lighting.

    Awful new rug smell

    I bought this rug because it was Oeko-Tex certified and it smells just awful - like someone poured lighter fluid on it. I don’t know how long it will take for it to air out. So if you dislike awful VOC smell, I wouldn’t recommend it. Other Nourison rugs have been fine!
