Q: they have changed the fragrances on this, right? The old packaging and product wasn't as strong and nauseating.When did they do this changeover.

  • A: I bought this online and was highly disappointed as well. Unilever tells me the old bars were called White Peach & Silk Blossom and this new, horrible imposter is called White Peach & ORANGE Blossom.

  • A: The new smell is horrible and there was NO cause for change. Cheaper ingredients. Smells like a junky Bath and Body works knock off. Disappointed and WILL not buy again. Why would they ‘fix’ what wasn’t broken? Lost a customer.

    New Scent is Horrible!

    The new scent is so strong and I hate it. Ive used this soap for over 20 years and now it's different. I only have a few bars left of the original Im so bummed.

    Need original back

    This is a new version, it is awful. It smells funny, it's goopy. You need to go back to the original version. I've been using that since I was a young girl. I'm 65 now. I'm so disappointed. I love the old version. The scent wasn't too heavy. It was moisturizing and lovely. Please bring back the old version. That all love so much

    I have been using this product since I was a child. My grandma loved it and I continued to use it as an adult. I am afraid to say it...but it's been going on 50 years. I love the smell of that soap and it reminds me of my grandma so much. To my surprise when I went to stock back up on my soap and it does not smell the same anymore!! I put it back in the box and I just want my old Caress soap scent back!! The sad part is I couldn't find just like a 2 pack I had to buy an 8 pack. I think I may have to return it. So sad.

    Awful formula change!

    The change from tallow to palm is horrible! Dries out my akin and makea me itch! Bad change! Had used this caress bar for over 40 years and now i can't even use it!! Awful

    Bring back the original formula

    Was a long customer for decades until they changed the bar soap. Bring back the original. The "new" one smells awful and dried out my skin. Switched to Dove.

    Scent has changed - STINKS!!!

    I came here just to see if anyone else had noticed a weird scent to this soap, or was it just my nose. I see several other posts commenting on the smell, so I will add a review as well. I used to love this soap, it had a nice creamy, light scent to it. I always used it on my face because it was gentle. I just purchased a 4-pack and after taking out the first bar, I thought...ewwwww, this STINKS. It now has a harsh, very strong perfume-y smell. Caress, why, why, why did you do this? I just don't understand why people have to change things when it was perfect the way it was before. Guess I will now go back to Dove because I will never use this soap again.

    I will never buy Caress again unless you bring back the original formula and scent. This new bar soap is awful and not moisturizing like the original was. Why mess with the original. It was the best.

    I'm so angry Caress changed the scent of the soap it smells strong and the sad part for me is it no longer moisturizes like the original bar- bring it back or sell both! I would like to have the original bar back and if I can buy them please let me know HOW!!!!

    You lost another customer with product change.....

    I have been using the old formula bar for nearly 20 years. I have chemical allergies to anything that ends in "thiazolinone", which includes many, many products and a lot of "fragrance". I was able to use this soap with it;s light scent with no issues until the last pack I bought. I immediately noticed the new scent (not as pleasant) when I opened the package, and the texture and consistency are different. But the biggest problem is that I have had a huge allergy flare. I immediately wen to the facebook group for this allergy and asked about the product change and got many "same here" responses. I will be donating the rest of this soap and trying something else.....

    Delicious Scent

Definitely a great option if you want something gently, moisturizing, and pleasantly scented for daily use. Although the price is on the high end, it is certainly worth it.

    Why did you change the formula? This new scent STINKS. It smells like the dollar general bathroom. The original scent was absolutely amazing. The new one is GROSS. You lost a long time customer and a family of 8 people who absolutely loved daily silk in bar and body wash. We had every possible form of it, even the travel size that was so hard to find! I’ll never buy it again!

    Total Surprise, not in a good way

    I have used this soap since the early 1980s, knowing I would smell amazing and feel clean. Imagine my surprise two nights ago when I opened my new bar. It smelled funny and my skin felt like it had a waxy film to it. YUCK! Not a good change, Caress. If it's not broke, don't fix it! I guess I will change to Dove from now on.

    Bar soap

    I have been a Caress user for over 40 years. No longer since the scent change. Not necessarily because the scent, the soap itself is not the same. Leaves skin tight and drier. Also leaves a film in the bath water and on sides of tub.. very disappointing. At least give us a choice to buy older version.
