Cannot Recommend Enough!
I have been wondering about getting a rice cooker for a long time and hesitated mostly because of price. However, this rice cooker is most definitely worth it! It has fast cooking times, customizable features, and makes the best rice. If you are on the fence, don't be and buy this!

No Alert When Rice is Finished Cooking
One star removed because it doesn’t play a tune when the rice is done. Otherwise, works well.

RICE HARDENS
I bought this Feb. 2020 and after the rice sits for a few hours, the rice all along the edges are always hard :-( My old Zojirushi that I had for almost 20yrs never had this problem :-( So now we have to add a wet paper towel to add moisture to the rice :-(

Thank you for sharing your experience with the rice cooker. It appears that the inner lid gasket may be showing some signs of wear if the top of your rice is becoming hard. We usually recommend not keeping rice longer than 12 hours in the rice cooker and not keeping a very small amount since it may dry faster. Also, it's always best to gather all the rice in the center of the pan into a mound to prevent it from getting dry. Best ever!
I’ve been using mine for a year and bought them for my kids for Christmas. This is my favorite cooking appliance I’ve ever owned!! We keep rice warm in it for up to three days and add it to our senior dogs food to help keep weight on. The quality of the rice is as good on day three as it is on day one. Once you’ve owned one, you’ll never settle for anything less!

Best Rice Cooker for Small Family
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this rice cooker about 6 years ago. It’s still going strong and I love the different features it has. I have made everything from jasmine rice, Thai sticky rice, sushi rice, and rice porridge in this rice cooker. The bowl is nonstick and has lasted just as long as the rest of the machine. Hands down the best rice cookers on the planet.

We appreciate you taking the time to let us know your thoughts on your Zojirushi rice cooker! The micro computerized rice cookers will take a little longer to cook than the conventional types with the lever because it automatically soaks, cooks, and steams your rice so you don't have to do it yourself. With the conventional rice cookers you have to soak the rice for 30 mins before pressing down the lever and then when it's done cooking, you would want to wait 15 mins before opening the lid so the rice steams and finishes the cooking process. We hope this helps explain why it takes a little more time to cook.
