The inside is all plastic with a stainless steel base. Saying stainless steal is misleading. Will be returning it.

Disappointed
I bought this product because it used to be a good brand. The entire tea kettle is made out of plastic except for the base. No one should be boiling water in plastic. It’s going back.

I didn’t realize the interior was plastic too. I’m not interested in heating plastic to boiling and then putting plastic chemicals in my coffee.

I really like this version of the Bodum Kettle a lot. Prior to this one I was using an old style much smaller white pot. The handle was broken in two places and my husband had to reconnect the wiring to post when it shorted out a couple of years ago.
I do wish this new kettle had the measure indicator column on both sides of the kettle so it would be convenient for the left handed users.

DO NOT BUY IT
It slowly stopped heating water after a few weeks. I wrote it off to being on uneven tiles on our counter but after 3 months it now does not heat ever. The on button pops immediately after turning it on and no amount of adjusting the base, water level, or angle helps. It’s poorly designed because there is nothing wrong by with the heating mechanism and it will heat water if you stand there holding the button down while the water heats. A pan on the stovetop works better than this hunk of plastic. I contacted Target and they said they wouldn’t take it back and to contact Bodum. Bodum would not repair or offer any troubleshooting help.

Broken after 3 months
Terrible product, we have had this kettle for 3 months and it’s power button is broken. It will still heat water if we stand next to it and hold it down, but otherwise it doesn’t work at all. Major design flaws! Will not be buying from Bodum again.
