A Little Disappointed
The design is a little flimsy. Lightweight metal. Green temp light stays lit even when unit is in Standby mode. Power cord detaches from the rear of the unit too easily.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the 4 Quart Deep Fryer, and we’re sorry to hear about the design and functionality concerns you’ve experienced. The indicator light remaining illuminated in standby can occur as the unit maintains temperature readiness, and ensuring the detachable power cord is fully and firmly seated before use may help improve stability during operation. Our Consumer Assistance Center would be glad to review these concerns and provide guidance at 1‑800‑726‑0190. Thank you for your feedback, as it helps us improve product design and performance in future models.

Thermostat does nothing. Basically a Cornballer.
Was excited to have an appliance that I could use to fry small batches of fish/fries/etc. without the (temperature) guesswork of using a cast iron dutch oven. However the thermostat does nothing. The oil gets hotter and hotter and hotter until it starts smoking. If you've seen Arrested Development and remember the Cornballer, then you get the idea. Out of the box, I set the thermostat on the fryer to 350F, a typical temp to deep fry, and when I checked it with an instant read thermometer, it was 430F—80 degrees off. So this thing basically sits on the shelf and I use my dutch oven instead. It's frankly dangerous.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate your detailed feedback. It sounds like the thermostat is not regulating temperature as it should, which can be dangerous, and we do not want you to continue using it in this condition. Please contact our Consumer Assistance Team at 1‑800‑726‑0190 so they can help troubleshoot or arrange a replacement.

Great for deep frying anything!
Nice unit to use very efficiently also easy to clean but very sharp edges So be careful while cleaning! The only cons on this unit that stainless steel is kind of thin so it can bend easily if you press too hard! Otherwise superb item!!

Dangerously overheated
I planned to make beignets for Easter morning. Plugged the fryer in and set to 350 degrees. The oil started to smoke. I used a digital thermometer to check the oil and it was coming up on 475 degrees. I bought this a year ago so I’m pretty annoyed that it 1. stopped working properly and 2. could have caused a serious grease fire.

This is deep, man
If you've never tried deep frying at home, this is how you do it properly. Shallow pan frying anyways makes a huge mess, air frying just can't quite hit the same highs. You'll get restaurant quality food out of just basic frozen stuff in less time than an air fryer or oven, and as counter Intuitive as it feels - when done properly, its actually LESS oily and/or greasy ( try peanut oil ).

Loved this deep fryer…but not its cook timer😯
The Cuisinart deep fryer is an excellent choice for frying French fries, chicken tenders, chicken wings, vegetables etc.. it’s quality made, has a nice medium size fryer basket, and heats up to temperature in about 8-10 minutes. My only complaint is the timer button: its very old school, a knob that one turns to set the cook time but this knob button timer is a little challenging to get an accurate reading and needs to be changed. I would recommend a digital timer to replace this archaic one.

Easy
Easy to use, easy to clean. Not 5 star because temp only goes to 375 degrees- purchased to make French fries, most call for 400 degrees.

4 Qt Deep Fat Fryer
Purchased the deep fat fryer as a replacement for another brand that had stopped working on our son's recommendation. Happy with the purchase. Instructions are easy to follow. Works much better than old one.
