I do not like the scent but it's not that overpowering it's just I'm really sensitive to anything that is scented. It is slightly thick and tacky and I think it works good if you want to air dry your hair, but unfortunately that's not what I wanted to do so I returned it.

However, I would have stuck with it had the fragrance not been so overpowering I had to rinse it out after an hour. I avoid fragrance due to an allergy but can generally handle a light fragrance. This fragrance was so strong I had to re-wash my hair due to feeling nauseated.

Menopause has given me a head full of crazy,cwavy hair. I have always been a wash and air dry girl. I have VERY dense, very fine hair. I wash about every 4-5 days, with no product. These days, it's just getting puffier and puffier. I tried NYM curl cream, and it's fine, but does still get frizzy. After many recommendations, tried this. Thoroughly combed through a small amount in freshly washed,cramp hair...Quarter size in my very thick, long hair, mostly at ends. Let it airdry, as usual. WHAT A MESS!! My normally dry, but shiny, hair looked like a greasy, heavy mess. I avoided the scalp, but it looked greasy from the root. I literally got back in the shower and use CLARIFYER 2× and my regular moisturizing shampoo once. Even after that, the texture was weird. Some curls straightened, some waves tightened up. Heavy, Greasy. Even my hands felt greasy all day. It did feel soft and bouncy--at the ends only. If you need a softener, it might be good for you. Minimal hold, even on my very fine, normally easy to style hair. I am very sensitive and had no reaction, though.

Allergic Reaction on scalp, face, and body.
This air dry crème caused me to have a lot of itching all over my body and my scalp. Last night I had to go to urgent care because my face, lips and eyes swelled up. My eye was so swollen it was closing up. Please be forewarned that this product could cause an allergic reaction to your scalp and body.

I stopped using this product after about two years to see if it really made a difference in my routine. Girl, it did. I went about two months, and tried a few other cheaper products. My hair was a nightmare without this stuff. Use in moderation, and ALWAYS mid shaft to ends. But it will give your natural wave shape, moisture, and LIFE. I’m a night shower-er, and this is a miracle worker. I wake up with soft, manageable hair. I can either re wet it and style the next day, or go in with heat (with protection from other products). But it gives me a template to work with, rather than unmanageable, dry hair.

I wanted a cheaper alternative to a prestige brand's air dry cream so I tried this. The heavy perfume scent is off-putting and even in sparing amounts, it weighs my fine, thin hair down and makes it look greasy. Might be fine for thicker hair, but it's a no go for my hair type.
