A: Hello Syd - Great question! This brush is acceptable for other animals. It is labeled as a dog brush but that does not limit it to dogs. This did not work at all! I was so excited to try this dog brush, but it did not work at all! The hair did not come off of my dog, nor did it stick in the brush. I read the instructions several times but this brush was ineffective.

Horrible. I bought the first one and used it twice before it broke. I thought it was defective until I bought the second one and the same thing happened to it. When you push the hair off the bristles do not enter correctly jamming the brush and damaging the bristles.

I have a malamute (my first mistake when buying this product). This brush/comb is not meant for heavy/thick double coat pups. My malamute was not even matted or shedding and this brush broke after 3 used. The brush head snapped off the base.

I really like this brush for my two dogs. I have a Shih-Poo and Shihtzu who tend to get matted between their haircuts. This brush has helped their fur stay tangle free. It’s not too harsh on their fur and they can withstand a brush session. 10/10 recommend for your dog.

When you push on the release button, it extends too far and some bristles pop out of their holes, rendering it unusable since it cannot retract ever again. Do not waste your money. We replaced the original one twice and every time it was the same story.

The previous model removes at least 3x as much fur as this new one. Seems to be partly that the new one is flat instead of convex, and the bristles don't feel the same. Luckily I was able to still find the old kind on Ebay.
