  • A: no, it does not require water. the technology in the fan sucks in hot air and makes it cold air. adding water and ice makes it colder and adds the misting function. but works perfectly fine without the water and/or ice! ^_^

    Don't buy this fan manufacturer doesn't make it anymore. It doesn't offer repair service services. Ours died.

    Don’t buy this product. In about a year’s time and stopped working. Got one semester at my son’s college and it’s not working. I called the manufacturer and they no longer make this fan nor can they repair it or support it. They offered no help.

    Does not work

    This fan does not cool at all. If you put the cold water in and the ice pack it just blows around the same room temp air. It does not even cool as well as a regular fan. We tried a regular fan in the room and that put off colder air than this with ice water and an ice pack. Don't waste your money.

    I was looking for another tower fan and found this at a local store and was pleasantly surprised to learn it included a cooling feature. After reading reviews and seeing its rating, I was nervous to use it and assumed its performance would be bad. After freezing both filter AND ice pack that's included, the cool mist feature works well enough and performs the way it's described. So far, I'm satisfied that it works as advertised and helps circulate air in my bedroom. Just use it exactly how it's instructed and it works!

    Useless and faulty-started sparking and smoking

    It’s only cold if you fill the tank with ice cubes and colder water. And then you have to stand within 1 foot of the fan to feel anything. 18” out I couldn’t feel anything. For the price you’re better off buying a regular tower fan and using a spray bottle to mist yourself now and then. We had it exactly 8 days and then it started to short out, sparked, and then smelled like smoke and then quit for good. Absolute trash. And the customer service is awful too.

    Ups and downs, manufacturer should add piece

    I've used mine for almost two months in a 1 BR appartment. If you use refrigerated water, and an ice pack inside, it works well! I have a waterproof mat in front of it because it does drip from the front occasionally, but it's designed to do that with the wet grates in the front.. it produces humidity and condensation is natural. I also freeze a tub of water and put it below it and it keeps us comfortable so the ac has to work less. One big design flaw- if you use other ice packs, you risk shoving the drainage hose behind the pull out drawer. If there is resistance, don't keep shoving the door shut because that thick straw is going to be a nightmare to get out. The water draw does not fully come out of the machine- you will bruise the backs of your hands trying to contort them to grab it, otherwise you'll have to take the unit apart. If the hose had some plastic piece to keep it in place so it doesn't cause massive leaking, I think this product would have higher reviews, because it otherwise works pretty dang well!
