They changed the ingredients👎👎
This used to be my holy grail of acne gel for many years and it was the only spot treatment that actually worked. It was gentle yet acted fast to diminish stubborn breakouts the very next day. Now as soon as u apply its a terrible burning sensation not a little sting like before and it leaves a white patch. The next day my skin was red and peeling and it did nothing to my breakouts. Why do company change their products for the worse?! If its not broken dont fix it!

Made me breakout
This stuff is horrible it burned and caused me to breakout. I loved the old formula with Benzoyl Peroxide it was more gentle to my skin and cleared it up fast.

I miss the Old Gel
The old product worked wonderfully for me. However, this new formula - it's awful - it burns while and after applying it, and makes my skin peel. And the next day, I have the formation of other breakouts in the area I applied it. Clinique, true to form, likes to change their products and formulas - if it's not broken, don't fix it. Funny - I just got an email - "We miss you - come back" - well, stop discontinuing the products I usually buy - soap, gels, AND make up!

Works fast!
This is by far the best! As a spot treatment it clears a blemish almost overnight. Applied thinly to problem areas it is effective as well. I have been using it for years. I feel that it is the best salicylic acid treatment available. A little goes a long way and a bottle last for a good amount of time.

Changed my life!!
This works so well, especially if you use it twice a day. It can be strong so you only need a little bit. You can use it all over face or spot treatment but i have sensitive and oily combination skin so i only use it as a spot treatment but DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!

Pass on this
It burns upon contact with skin, smells very strongly of alcohol, and laves my face feeling very tight after it dries down. There are better products out there.

great for super oily skin!
This new formula is awesome for very oily skin. I really like the packaging, although I wish it came in a larger size. This absorbs very quickly and needs to be applied quickly if you use it on your entire face and not just as a spot treatment. You do not need a lot, and the packaging prevents waste. This is perfect for all of us who do not want or need a hydrating/extremely gentle skin treatment to prevent acne, clogged pores, and oil.

great for super oily skin!
this new formula is awesome. so many acne serum have silicones, oil, or fillers that make my skin even more oily and my makeup slides off in a few hours. I wish it came in a larger size but I like the packaging a lot. this absorbs very quickly...I apply it all over my face in the morning, over a light serum and before sunscreen. I hope clinique keeps this formula!

Left chemical burns
If you have sensitive skin- I would not recommend this product. I now have these stubborn dark chemical burns on face due to using this product. I was under the impression that this product was the replacement for the discontinued Step 3 All-Over Treatment, and that is definetly not the case. If you do decide to try it, ONLY use a small amount- like a musterseed amount.

New formula stronger - at 2 %
This literally made holes in my face! Im overly disappointed- abd angry. The original formula only had one percent salicylic acid. This new garbage has 2%.

Too Strong
Makes my face burn and peel for weeks.I liked the other Step 3 product with benzoyl peroxide much better. Having the cleanser, toner, and repair products all with salicylic acid is just too harsh and does not work well.

NO LONGER THE SAME PRODUCT - SIZE AND FORMULA
I am absolutely disappointed in Clinique.... I used this for a couple years now and it had helped literally keep acne away and help prevent. The new formula is trash and causes skin irritation and doesn't work the same. The joke of making the bottle smaller and same price as 1oz is embarrassing for Clinique. I buy other products of theirs but if this is what type of company they want to be I am no longer buying their products and moving all my skin over to Chanel. Clinique will end up being irrelevant with our generation again and newer generations if this is the business model they are using and literally sabotaging themselves. Bye bye Clinique!

Love it
This product helped when I was having hormonal acne breakouts. You can wear it under makeup, just dont over do it because it might cause cause dry skin and irritation but it works when used right! I put it on a pimple after using my daily moisturizing lotion and haven't noticed any negative effect.

This is trash.
I thought I would try this because they were out of the one that I usually buy and love. it reminds me of cheap spot treatment from the nineties. it smells horrible. it's incredibly hard to spread on your face because the alcohol in it makes it dry super quickly. It doesn't actually absorb into your skin but leaves a sticky film on top of your skin. The alcohol can also make it sting a little bit too. It doesn't play well with makeup and just crumbles off my face when i'm applying my foundation.

Gentle cleanser for the face
I had a faulty experience with this product. When I purchased , I honestly thought it would be in a bigger bottle , it was really small, in my opinion; for the price I paid . To my surprise, Clinique gave me a refund & let me stay with the product as a one time deal. That was rather nice of them to sweeten the deal.

New formula burns
I was obsessed with the old formula used it for around 3 years now constantly refilling, didnt burn and removes even deep cysts for me. Now? The only thing i have noticed is that it burns the heaven off my face, should definitely reconsider the new formula and from what i can see definitely not the only one experiencing this.

New formula too strong, left a dark circle!
Yikes. I was an AVID user of the old formula of this product, it worked amazingly well. When I ran out, I ordered the new formula… and ONE DROP applied 24 hrs ago has left me with a noticeable dark circle on the spot applied. I noticed the circle when I woke up this morning. It has become stronger throughout the day. This is NOT the result I've come to expect from Clinique. I hope this discoloration goes away and soon!
