Please...is this a figment of my imagination.

Not food safe. Its a lie

Unfortunately, this product is a clear case of false advertising. While marketed as a durable container, the base is actually PET 1 (recycled plastic), which is designed for single use only. PET 1 is prone to leaching chemicals into food when reused, microwaved, or exposed to extreme temperatures. To make matters worse, the lid is labeled PET 7, a "catch-all" category that is often not food-safe and can contain BPA. If you want a truly safe, reusable option, stick with containers labeled PP 5 (like Rubbermaid). Why sell a "reusable" item made of the least durable plastics? Everyone knows Plastic #5 is the gold standard for food safety.

Mold trapped in vent

I got these, washed them by hand, and set them out to dry. Mold has grown on the inside of one of the vents already and is impossible to get out. We haven’t even had a chance to use these yet!
