Fruity Pebbles cereal is a nostalgic favorite for many, offering vibrant colors and a fruity flavor that appeals to both kids and adults. It's versatile, making great treats and snacks beyond breakfast. However, some guests have noted changes in texture and taste, and it tends to get soggy quickly in milk.

Ordered this item for same day delivery, I opened it to discovered the box and item was tampered with. I suspect the box was returned and put back on the shelf, the box contained a small bag of fruit loops, the box was clearly glued shut. It’s concerning returned items would be put back on the shelf for sale. I would expect food to be destroyed and not resold. It’s impossible to be able to know where the replacement product came from.

Something changed. This box tastes like corn flakes with a dash of chocolate flavoring. Also, I think it's causing GI issues.
Changed recipe in summer of 2025, and it's awful.

Gluten Intolerance - 1 month ago

I've been eating lots of cocoa pebbles, especially after having to go gluten free, and noticed this massive change to the recipe, the box, and the plastic bag immediately. Are cocoa pebbles even still safe to eat? The changes are unlike any I've seen before, and the cereal is gross now. It's not chocolatey, it's flat and thin in texture, and went soggy in seconds. The plastic bag doesn't look like any cereal bag I've seen before, which makes me fearful of the loss of food safety regulations that I know happened during Republican leadership. How am I supposed to know if this food is safe if it changed so massively during this political climate? And why does the box itself feel different? I feel insane because the box change is subtle, but I swear it feels more smooth and robust, which makes me wonder if it's no longer recyclable. I don't trust cocoa pebbles anymore. I relied on this cereal, and it's lost me.
Changed formula, so disappointing

I am 40 years old. Haven't eaten this for years. Decided to buy it tonight as a nostalgic treat. So sad to see the formula has been changed. They are 100% different than they used to be. They tasted like the plastic bag and the cardboard box. Got soggy in about two minutes. This is not me remembering wrong. I am certain they are different - and for the worse. Please change it back.

I usually have my 1 cup of cocoa pebbles every morning, but the last box is horrible. There is about half the amount of cocoa fkavor and they don't hold their crunch. A huge disappointment. Unfortunately I bought the giant size box.

Cocoa pebbles was my favorite cereal growing up, and even when I was older I really enjoyed it. It always felt like a treat. Then I got a box a while ago, and realized I didn't go back to it for a few months. So I tried it again and realized it was a bad batch. So I got another box and it was just as bad. I am deeply saddened by this. The flavor is dull compared to what it used to be, and it no longer has the same crunch. I wanted to give these atleast 2 or 3 stars, but after eating them once more, I cannot. They are not enjoyable like this. Not even because of nostalgia, they're just aren't good anymore :(
WHY DOES IT TASTE LIKE COCOA KRISPIES

I also agree with the commenters here. I grew up with this cereal and have noticed for the past few years (at least buying in SoCal grocery stores) that the texture and taste of the cereal has gone down the drain (literally because I toss it because I can't do the taste). I'll notice here and there that some boxes have the "old school" formula, but it's getting more rare. Can you please bring back the old school formula please, I don't care if it's unhealthy, that's why we eat it :)

This cereal is superior to all other cereals. Its quality is unmatched. The flakes are the perfect amount of flakiness and the chocolate is dusted on each flake to perfection.

You guys changed the formula approximately 1 year ago and got a flood of negative reviews. Since that time, the only positive reviews are from "certified reviewers" and "part of a free sample". Seriously? Almost every 5 star review in the last year has that little green dot beside it. Some reviewers claim that the gluten free change is what made it bad. However, I had been eating the gluten free version and could not tell a difference. But this new formula is terrible, terrible, terrible.

I am disappointed in companies like this that after all the exposing infor.stion of the harmful ingredients there is still no change. This was my kids number 1 choice of cereal and unfortunately I had to make a wise decision to not buy again until our kids health is put first. Do better.

I refuse to buy this cereal again. It causes my 9 year old son's eyes to blink tightly and constantly, like he has a tic. I hadn't bought fruity pebbles cereal for a while and it went away. I recently purchased the cereal just to confirm my suspicions and yup, it brought back my son's itchy eye tic. NEVER BUYING AGAIN IN THE U.S.
What happened to the chocolate flavor?

We just finished one of the big bags and bought a new one a few days ago. The new bag does NOT taste like Cocoa Pebbles at all. As soon as I poured it into the bowl I noticed it was a different color. I've eaten Cocoa Prbbles my while lige and now it's my daughter's favorite cereal, or it was before it changed the flavor. She didn't eat the last 2 bowls I poured for her. So I figured I'd give it a go and sure enough, it's totally different and basically tastes just like Chocolate rice krispies cereal... which is gross.
Consistency is way off lately.
